The Podium is alps‘s blog-collection of quotations he have seen, read, heard, spoken or made.
I really love quotations, and I even quote myself after a niiice intellectual conversation. I have been collecting quotations since time immemorial and I just have them on my good old Notepad. Since I write often, I always seek an inspiration (for style, for theme and for writing itself) from the best classical and contemporary quotations. I have been having a hard time searching my database (Let me call it a database so I may seem so well-organized) for appropriate quotations since they are just scattered like everywhere–I even have ones on my mobile phone! In the name of the God of Obsessive Compulsiveness, I opened my own private database of quotations. Using the power of Tags (TAGS!), I can easily find quotations either by theme or by author. Talking about themes, quotations, more often than not, have two or more themes. Unlike some book-compilations of quotations, a blog-database could assign a specific quotation under two themes or more (e.g. Sex and Cooking [Now guess or even make a quotation about these two themes]). Actually, the database-blog was originally intended for my private use since I don’t expect much traffic anyway. But why the hell not should I publicly open it huh? Anyway, I named the blog The Podium. Quotations, especially during the days-I-am-not-born-yet, are quoted from famous orators like Martin Luther King. The Podium has just opened and contains FEW (When I say few, it’s FEW) quotations. But I would be adding at least one per day. Here it is!: And oh, I (will) also quote my friends
