My newest acquisition makes me feel like a predator. It is a pendant made by a jeweler named Rocky Fiore who has a particular fascination with Arachnida and their webs. He captures real spiderwebs and highlights their tension in pattern on a field of black.
And it's not just the web, but the tick,
I found it at The Shining, a little boutique jewelry store on Henderson. Go quick though, they are closing their doors soon, but you can still order from Rocky's site!
I had the wonderful opportunity to be able to sit down with the lovely Alaina Huffman, who plays Lt. Tamara “T.J.” Johansen on Stargate Universe and Black Canary on Smallville at the Women of Sci-Fi edition of the Sci-Fi Expo this past weekend. This was a homecoming of sorts as Huffman got her start in acting in Dallas, Texas. We chatted about Smallville (minor spoilers here!), closing thoughts on Stargate Universe, and her new graphic novel project, Agent Mom. Check out the interview in the link below.

With a considerably more serious tone to Stargate Universe, the Stargate franchise has now taken us to fresh and new possibilities of Stargate travel that reach beyond the discovery, diplomacy, and fight-the-big-bad missions of previous Stargate series. How awesome is it to have Lindsay Wagner, the Bionic Woman herself, guest starring on a great summer show like SyFy’s Warehouse 13? I, along with several other online media outlets, had the wonderful opportunity to chat with Wagner about her role as Dr. Vanessa Calder, the Warehouse’s in-house doc “who is responsible for treating the investigative team as well as the super secret governing body known as The Regents.”

Check out this fan-made trailer for a prequel to Guillermo Del Toro's Hellboy II, following the story of the gorgeous elf Prince Nuada (Luke Goss) and how he came to hate humanity so. Must give props to Veronica Ambler for her excellent prequel writing that undoubtedly inspired this trailer.

This season, these reptilian aliens’ grand agenda targets the elimination of the human soul and presents a complicated mother-daughter relationship between Anna, her mother Diana (Jane Badler), and Anna’s daughter, Lisa (Laura Vandervoort).
I was honored to be able to speak with the alien queen (and most beautiful and elegant Companion this side of the ‘verse) herself at this past weekend’s Women of Sci-Fi themed Sci-Fi Expo in Dallas, Texas.

DVD Review: BEING HUMAN Season One

The premise for the BBC’s Being Human sounds like a joke, but it is a serious drama about a vampire, a ghost, and a werewolf living together, struggling to live amongst humanity. The show stars Aidan Turner as Mitchell the handsome, ever-cool vampire, Russell Tovey as George the hopelessly awkward, neurotic werewolf, and Lenora Crichlow as Annie the lovely but lost ghost. Being Human can make you gasp, cry, laugh, and scream at the television all in the same episode. It is an incredibly well-written and well-performed show that is a perfect concoction of the drama, gravity, and silliness of a realistic situation.
