Thoughts

I woke up this morning with the Lord standing next to my bed saying “Get up I need you”.  Oh how sweet the sound of those words. Intercessory prayer used to be a common thing for me. Please don’t get me wrong, I am not bragging on myself. What I’m saying is that I used to make myself more available to the Lord for times such as this morning. I got out of bed and fell to my knees and the Lord took over. Oh how I’ve missed it.

The promises of the Lord are not slack. God does not go back on his promises. Matt and Danelle  are living proof of that. God’s hand is upon the two of you this weekend. Stay plugged in the vein. Be ready to have your mind blown away.

I can’t help but be a little puffed up with pride. They are my kids, my kids doing great things for the Lord. Can you blame me?

Blogging has not always been at the top of my list of things to do, but this morning I started thinking about it again. I couldn’t remember the website name or my username, that’s how long its been. Obviously I found it. I was looking at my last post and it has been 1 year and 9 months that I last blogged. WOW!

The house is quiet, the birds are singing, the sky is gray and I’m warm and snug with my cup of coffee. Could it get any better? People think that I’m a high maintenance woman but I beg to differ. It’s the simple things in life that make me happy. Like a hot cup of coffee. Watching the sun peak in and out of the clouds. Smelling the fresh air after the rain.

When the busyness of life stops and I’m able to take a breath and sit down, listen and look around, I couldn’t ask for more. I don’t have a lot of friends, so my social life isn’t what keeps me busy. I don’t have small children that keep me busy. We don’t have a bunch of farm animals that used to keep me busy. So what keeps you so busy, you might ask? Well, I’m just busy. I guess it’s a good thing because I do get bored easily. Don’t get me wrong, when I have day’s like today where I can stop and smell the roses, I just melt. I can feel the stress of the week melt away and get some of my joy back. And for what? To it all over again on Monday. 🙂  Hello Saturday………………..

26 years ago today I walked down a church isle arm in arm with my Dad as he gave me away to a man that he knew would take care of me no matter what.  Boy was he ever right. My heart is very full tonight. Full of happiness, joy and a litte sadness as I think about my Dad.

Happy Anniversary Darling.  Wow where did the time go. It does not seem like 26 years. My mind wonders to all the wonderful things we have gone through and some of the hard things we have gone through. I would go through them all over again as long as I was with you because you are what keeps this family together and me happy. I Love Love Love you! Happy Happy Happy Anniversary.  Now lets go eat! 🙂

Okay so we are having some rain. Isn’t it wonderful? I know it makes it inconvenient to get around in but for the most part its great! Rain is kinda like life. How? Well, the clouds have to form and then they fill up and when it starts to fall things turn green and smell fresh and trees start to bloom and birds start to sing. But it leaves behind puddles, mud slides, leaky roofs, pot holes in roads you get the idea. Life is like this because you get up one morning you start having a bad day. Things start building up, something didn’t go right at work or an unexpected bill shows up and its starts to build up and then little Johnny spills his milk at dinner.  Thats It! Here comes the rain. You start to yell at little Johnny and the husband says don’t get so upset and that just makes it worse because he doesn’t know what kind of day you just had. You walk away go to your room, close the door take a deep breath look at yourself in the mirror and begin to cry. Suddenly a little bird starts to sing a song and you find that your weeping, the tears, the rain turn to prayer and some consecration time.  After about a 1/2 hour or so the sun starts to shine the birds are singing and everything looks green again. So I said all that to say this, when the rain comes and you start to feel down put your rain boots on and go stomp in some puddles! Stomp! Stomp! Stomp!

Merry Christmas everyone and Happy New Year.  It’s that time of year again that causes us to reflect back on events that have happened in our lives. Some are good, some are sad.  But the exciting part is that on January 1st we get a whole new clean slate to do it all over again.  2009 will be in the past and we will have 2010 to make up for things that maybe we didn’t do or complete or start. In any case let’s make it an exciting one. I didn’t feel very good about 2009 coming back in 2008.  But for some reason I feel like 2010 is going to be a year of growth explosion.  All those growing pains we’ve been feeling in 2009 are going to show its fruits in 2010.  I’m excited to see what God has for me and my family and for the church in 2010.  Around the end of 2008 or the beginning of 2009 God told John and I to stand still well we have but I feel like God is getting ready to say Okay its done.  How exciting is that?! Look out 2010 here we come!

I want to take this time to thank all my blogger friends out there for keeping  me and my family in prayer.  God has been so good to us and we couldn’t have made it without all the prayers.  Pray can change things.  I’m so thankful to be were God wants me to be.  Even when i’m not comfortable being in that place I’m thankful that He found the time to put me somewhere. I am in a uncomfortable place right now but I know that it is for the good.  I don’t like change but change can be good. Change for the better helps me to grow to stretch and get out of my comfort zone.   God is good! I’m learning that the more you fight it the harder it is.  Ok I surrentder 🙂

So I was reading some of my past blogs.  I can see where I have been and where I am going. I read the “about me” section and alot of the things I said in it don’t apply anymore. I no longer have Alex my dog.  I don’t have my Turkey any more and no we didn’t eat him. All of our chickens are gone and God did see fit to move us.  I know you’ve heard me say over and over that we are moving and I keep telling myself that we are and we are preparing to but geeezzz when are we??? Pastor preached the other night about how God will bless us and sometimes those blessing will get taken away.  John and I have had to learn not to hold on to things of this world.  What a hard lesson.  We tell ourselves “oh I can do without that”… until its gone.  Our mind sets have been moved to operate in a different direction. God is still blessing us and when he does its like WOW! not because we didn’t believe but just because God has become so real to us now.  Not that He wasn’t real to us before.  Okay you get it right? When you are not standing on your own and you are leaning on HIS everlasting arms your perspective is so much different.  He is good all the time!  Because l

Are you in the perfect Will of God? I’ve been asking myself that question alot lately.  Am I? Well, I wanted an answer.  So I stated self examining and sometimes when you do that you find things you don’t like or things you have kept buried and forgot about.  So what do you do? What I did was I started asking myself a few questions.

1. Are you happy?  I believe that when you are in the perfect Will of God you are happy.

2. Are you satisfied? I believe that when you are in the perfect Will of God you have a sense of gratification with your life a sort of fullfillment.

3. Are you filled up? I believe that when you are in the perfect Will of God you don’t have any emptiness inside of you.  You don’t feel like something is missing.

So with those questions asked. I got my answer. NO I’m not in the perfect Will of God for various reasons.  I won’t say which ones exactly but I will say that I’ve decided to get there.  I’m working toward God’s perfect Will.  It’s not going to be easy but I’m excited with what I’m going to find when I get there.

God is so easy to get along with.  We are the ones that make it so hard.  Sometimes we just have to go back to square one and start over.  So here I am back at square one. Exciting!!

Its been awhile since I last posted.  My last post was on the simple things in life.  So tonight will be on whatever my fingers type.  Anyways, nothing new same o same o.  Family is all doing fine.  Getting ready to start packing.  We are going to be leaving Hollister for a while.  I will be back though.  This is where my heart is.  Times have been tough as you all know.  We are literally and when I say we I mean John and I are at the bottom of the barrel. 

Thank God I still have my job.  John only got 1 check in the month of February and it hasn’t gotten any better since.  Don’t get me wrong I’m not complaining.  Just letting you all know that we are in the same boat as everybody else.  I know that I serve a merciful God.  A God that will not leave his children begging for bread.  Now if I can just transfuse some of that faith into my husband things would be grand. 

Had Matt and Danelle over for dinner last night.  There is always laughter of some sort whenever those two come over.  Even if its just watching Matt aggravate Danelle or Danelle giving us one of her Nellism. 🙂 Finally started posting on Face Book.  Amanda sent me an email to be added on as a friend about 6 months ago and I never did anything with it.  So one night while working on my computer I logged in and started building my wall.  It is kinda cool.  So if you don’t see me here check out my Face Book page. So lets see is there anything else?  Nope can’t think of anything so blessings to  you all and see ya next time………

I just love the sunshine.  Don’t you?  I’m one of those people that after a week of rain and no sun I become very cranky.  Then when the sun comes out I’m like a lizard laying across a rock soaking up the sun.  Today was one of those days. The sun was shining and I just couldn’t get enough of it.  I went outside sat in one of our patio chairs and just listened to the birds sing and  feel the sun soak into my skin. One of lifes most precious moments.  To  stop and just listen.  Listen to the sounds around you.  Birds singing.  The breeze blowing through the grass.  A train whistle in the distance.  What peace. It was so calming to my spirit. 

Around 1:00 my Mom showed up with my two nieces, Ashley and Jenna.  We went to Gilroy and had some lunch, did alot of shopping.  Thanks again Mom.  Love you!  We talked and laughed alot.  It was fun being with the kids.  All and all I had a blessed day!  Being with God in the morning and then being with the people I love in the afternoon and evening.  What more could a person want.  Its just the little things that mean so much.

Now I can’t wait for March 12.  For those of you that don’t know, Sis Ronda Hurst has been asked to take care of the music for the Ladies Conference and she has chosen Amanda  & Me for the Sopranos, Tena V. & Teresa Saria as Tenors and Mindy & Patricia as Altos.  Ladies we are going to rock the house.  I already feel the Holy Ghost in it.  The Lord is going to meet us there in a very special way.  So all you ladies that are going.  Go ready to receive an awesome blessing.  See ya all there 🙂
