Riot Ensemble unveil Phantom Miniatures

A new immersive audio commission by Alexander Tillegreen, supported by The Space and the Danish Composers Society, Phantom Miniatures transforms a psychoacoustic illusion into live performance and digital presentation.
Riot Ensembleβs collaboration with Tillegreen explores the phantom word illusion β where listeners perceive imagined words shaped by their own perception β through a spatialised concert work and a series of short digital videos for online release in March 2026. The project marks the first time Tillegreenβs research into perceptual illusion has been realised for live musicians and immersive electronics, with filming and mixing taking place at Southbyβs Soundscape Studio in London, home to the worldβs highest-resolution d&b Soundscape system.
