Shaaban crescent sighted; Ramadhan expected on Feb 19
Muscat: The Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs said that the crescent moon of Shaaban 1447 AH has been sighted on Monday. Consequently, Tuesday, January 20, 2026, will be the first day of the month of Shaaban. According to the Omani calendar, the month of Shaaban will be 30 days, with the first day of the holy month of Ramadhan expected to fall on Thursday, February 19, 2026, and is expected to last 29 days.
