H.E. Mr. Shiro Sadoshima, the Japanese Ambassador to Thailand, along with his team of representatives from Embassy of Japan in Thailand and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) visited KVIS on 28th November, 2016. He was given a warm welcome by the the managment, teachers and students of KVIS. Ambassador Sadoshima attended a presentation on KVIS and VISTEC given by Dr. Pailin Chuchottaworn, Chairman of Power of Learning and Power of Innovation Foundation and the school governing board. After the presentation, the Ambassador and his team had a tour to visit classes, laboratories and  dormitories. He enjoyed the interaction with KVIS teachers and students.

 After the school tour, the representatives from the Embassy of Japan in Thailand, Ms. Supatra Pothong and Ms. Nuttawan Tanpaibule, delivered a lecture on the Japanese Government Scholarship or “Monbukagakusho”, and received an overwhelming attention from KVIS students. This lecture inspired them on pursuing their dream to study in Japan.

It was a great honor for KVIS to welcome the Ambassador and his team. The school firmly believes that, this visit would establish a collaboration with Japan which will continually expand in the future.

During 30 July - 6 August 2017 a team 8 students, computer science teacher and planning and research affairs officer from the Korea Science Academy of Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KSA of KAIST) visited KVIS for a week on student exchange program. The team had an opportunity to explore KVIS curriculum by observing classes with their buddies from KVIS grade 12. They also got exposed to extracurricular activities like Thai Language, Costume and Thai Boxing (Muaythai).

They were taken for a science knowledge excursion where, they got a chance to visit PTT's knowledge centers. The excursion was focused on learning about the business of PTT group. They visited PTTGC Innovation and Science Center, PTT Oil Business Academy, Amazon Inspiring Center, Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology and PTT Reforestation Institute. With these visits, they witnessed a new perspective in Innovation and Science learning being done by PTT.

Apart from academic activities, the team visited various sites of tourism like Ayuthaya Floating Market, Khao Laem Ya–Mu Ko Samet National Park, and Nong Nooch Garden. After visiting, the team got more information on the history and geography of Thailand.

Teacher Takanori Miyata from Meijo University Senior High School in Nagoya, Japan, visited KVIS from 18-21 August 2017. Mr. Miyata gave a couple of presentations on Wasan, the Japanese art of doing Mathematics, attended sessions and presentations of research and research proposals given by KVIS students, observed some of the Math classes at KVIS, and sharing with math teachers valuable comments and advice.  

The highly informative presentation about the Japanese math from Edo Period, 16th to 18th century, not only gave an excellent overview of the Japanese mathematics from that period but included a lot of illustrations and practical puzzles from original historical sources for our students to try. One special puzzle of Wasan style was contemporary, created by his student, Hayakawa Saya, especially for KVIS students.  

A couple of M6 groups of students presented their research to our guest. For example, on Friday 18, "The Block Configuration Combination in the Box" by Apiphu Chenwittayakachorn, Panatchakorn Anantaprayoon, and Tanaorn Bamroongshawgasame, and "Barrow’s Inequality in Einstein’s Gyrovector Space and Mobius’ Gyrovector Space" by Wasin Meesena. Three groups of M5 students presented their research proposals on Monday 21. These were "The probability of elimination in tournament" by Jirayus Jinapong, "Modelling Association Football Match Results and Positive Returns Betting Strategy" by Phumrapee Pisutsin, and "Newton’s Inequality for sets of Complex Numbers with some specific conditions" by Natcharee Chotchutipchayakorn.  Mr. Miyata watched these presentations with great interest. 

On Monday 21st also, Mr. Miyata was observing the teaching of a math class and sharing his comments and advice with KVIS teachers. Before he departed back to Japan Mr. Miyata presented the Math Department with a gift: a beautiful edition of the book "Sacred Mathematics - Japanese Temple Geometry". The book has a lot of additional information on Wasan with great illustrations and a big number of interesting problems and puzzles. It is displayed in the KVIS Math room for everybody to enjoy it.

Delegates from KAIST University, South Korea visited KVIS on 18th September 2017. Dr. Hayyong Shin, Professor with the faculty of Industrial & Systems Engineering and Ms. Eun Song Ko, Undergraduate Admissions officer with KAIST University were given a warm welcome by the KVIS management. 

The delegates had an interaction with KVIS students and encouraged all M4 - M6 students to apply for early admissions at KAIST. It is observed that both KVIS and KAIST have similarity of goals inorder to create and support students based on their academic excellence.

Dr. Thongchai Chewprecha, Director of KVIS took the delegates for a campus tour in KVIS and Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology (VISTEC). Dr. Hayyong was impressed with the STEM research being carried out in KVIS and VISTEC.

Dr. Thongchai Chewprecha, the principal and all staffs introduce our class room and laboratory as well as invite our quest to Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology too. Dr. Hayyong Shin was very impressed and he address that research in STEM will drive the country. M6 students of KVIS can apply to KAIST for undergraduate programmes until 25th October 2017. KVIS hosted the exchange program for a team of 4 students and a Mathematics Teacher from Gyeonggi Science High School for the Gifted (GSHS), Republic of Korea, during 18 - 25 February 2017. The GSHS students had an opportunity to study with their KVIS student buddies and conducted the collaborative research together under the supervision of both KVIS and GSHS chaperone teachers. The exchange team also had a chance to do experiments at the labs of Vidyasirimedhi Institute (VISTEC), under the supervision of our senior advisor, Dr. Thanit Pewnim.

Apart from the academic activities, the GSHS exchange team got exposure to learn more about Thai culture by attending special classes held by KVIS teachers, including Thai language, Muay Thai, and art classes. They also enjoyed spending their “homestay weekend” with their KVIS buddies' families, exploring and visiting various attractions in Bangkok and other parts of Thailand.

2nd KVIS-ISF Award Ceremony

On December 11, 2018, the 2nd KVIS Invitational Science Fair awards ceremony recognized participants for their hard work. In front of a full house in the Thongchai Chewprecha Auditorium, awards were presented to the students.

   The Vice President of the Department of East Asian Affairs, joined by officers from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, visited Wangchan Valley on Tuesday, February 5, 2019. The group visited Kamnoetvidya Science Academy, and were greeted by Dr. Rachain Kosanlavit, Principal, and Dr. Jarunee Tantiwachwuttikul, Manager. They then attended a seminar on “Aims and Operations of KVIS/VISTEC” and observed classrooms.

   Professors and graduate students from Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, visited Kamnoetvidya Science Academy on Wednesday, February 6, 2019. The group were greeted by Dr. Rachain Kosanlavit, Principal, who also led a lecture on science and technology education and instructional media. They also exchange ideas on teaching methodology.

 Executives, teachers and students from Banmuangpitthayakhom, Sakon Nakon , visited Kamnoetvidya Science Academy on Wednesday, February 6, 2019. The group were greeted by Dr. Thani Pewnim, KVIS Advisor, and attended a lecture on the teaching of science and technology at Kamnoetvidya Science Academy.

    Mr. Chansin Treenuchagron, Chief Executive Officer of PTT Public Company Limited, visited Kamnoetvidya Science Academy on Friday, February 8, 2019. He was welcomed by the administrators, staff members and students of Kamnoetvidya Science Academy. Mr. Treenuchagron spoke to the students and encourage them to work hard, to use the knowledge of science and technology to develop Thailand in the future, and to strive to be both intelligent and good.

Chief representative of Japan International Cooperation Agency(JICA), Mr. Hiroo Tanaka (ฮิโรโอะ ทานากะ), led the team from the Embassy of Japan in Thailand comprising Mr. Keisuke Karaki (เคสุเกะ คารากิ, the First Secretary), Mr. Yojiro Miyashita (โยจิโระ มิยาชิตะ, JICA representative), and Dr. Takahiro Otsuka (ทากาฮิโระ โอซึกะ, JICA representative) to visit Kamnoetvidya Science Academy to get to know the set up and the running of the school.

The team was greeted by Dr. Pailin Chuchottaworn, Dr. Thongchai Chewprecha, Dr. Jarunee Tantiwachwuttikul, and Dr. Surachai Thachepan. After a nice lunch together at the KVIS canteen, the team visited various sections of KVIS and was impressed by the small class size of 18 students per class at KVIS where the lecture portion and the laboratory section are integrated as one.

KVIS has many students of high potential who will be looking for places at top international universities. To prepare teachers and counsellors to write documents supporting applications to US Universities, KVIS invited John Carr to hold a seminar at school on the 26th of September 2016. John, a former counsellor at International School Bangkok (ISB), conducted an excellent seminar. He pointed out that all four of the following criteria must be met if a student is to be admitted to a top university.

(1) The school must have a good profile. 

(2) The student must have a good academic record as shown on the transcript.

(3) The student must have strong letters of recommendation (LoR) from teachers and/or counsellors.

(4) The student must write an impressive essay or statement of purpose.

He pointed out that top universities look for students with all-round ability who have strong leadership skills. To be noticed by admissions officers letters of recommendation should describe the qualities of a student clearly by giving specific examples. 

Dr Sergey Varlamov is a scientist who has for many years taught physics in special Moscow schools. He has been associated with the Physics Olympiad and the International Young Physicists Tournament (IYPT) since their inception, regularly teaches visiting students from Finland in English and has travelled widely. He loves teaching, always in a vigorous practical style, relying on demonstrations to excite and engage students. His lessons are broken into 20 minute bytes: demonstration/discussion/theory. 

Sergey inspired teachers and students alike with his enthusiasm, energy and depth of knowledge. To quote one KVIS physics teacher: "Sergey might just be the very best physics teacher I've met in my life. He has that rare knack of making the subtle obvious, the complex simple, (and when he talks to me) the known a revelation, as only a man with very deep and clear understanding can do. He combines practical demonstration with theory better than anyone I have seen."

Thanakrit Wongsatit, KVIS Cohort 2

When land preparation and construction work began at KVIS in 2014 many birds disappeared: but for only a short time. Most of the existing trees were left in place so that when the frightening sounds of construction machines disappeared and the lake was filled with water the natural habitat had been improved. Former birds returned, and new species come to share the campus with staff and students. 

Thanakrit Wongsatit, KVIS Cohort 2, has been collecting data on "Birds at KVIS" since May 2016.

The collaboration between G.T. (Ellen Yeung) College of Hong Kong (GTC) and Kamnoetvidya Science Academy (KVIS) has been developing at a steady and happy pace. It started blooming on 29 November 2015 when the Principal Dr. Raymond Tam and two of his teachers visited KVIS and expressed a highly positive impression on the school. This maiden visit was followed by another GT college team during 1-5 June 2016 which ran two workshops for KVIS teachers. The team leader was Professor Rex I.F. Li, the Curriculum Director and Founder of GTC. Two other team members were Mr. O. Kin Chit Alexander, head of Science, Mathematics and Physics Departments and Mr. Yeung Kwai Hon Victor, head of Integrated Science Panel. This ocassion facilitated the members from two schools become good friends and share their knowledge and experience in depth.

KVIS students and a chaperone teacher, Dr. Panuphong Pootawang, visited GTC during 3-7 October inorder to strengthen the friendship and impression on each other to a level further. This is evident as an excerpt from an email from GTC Principal Dr. Raymond Tam to KVIS Principal Dr. Thongchai Chewprecha says, “Thank you very much for your trust and support in establishing the exchange program between KVIS and GT College. Your students are so bright and well behaved and we benefit a lot from hosting them". A Full report of the visit is shown in the file attached below.

To provide opportunities to experience an international perspective, Kamnoetvidya Science Academy sent 13 students and 2 teachers to participate in a “Summer English Language Studies program” at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand from 8 March to 21 May 2016. The program proved to be beneficial for students as they learnt invaluable lessons overseas and were able to strengthen their English language communication skills.  

The relationship between the two academies involved has been cultivated since then. Mr. Roger McElwain, the CEO of the University of Otago Language Centre and Foundation Year, visited Kamnoetvidya Science Academy after his trip to the Middle East on 10th of October, 2016. Mr. McElwain was warmly welcomed by our school principal, Dr. Thongchai Chewprecha, along with KVIS English teachers and staff members. The purpose of the visit was to discuss about the proposed collaboration between two schools. This includes short courses, scholarships and Internship programs for students, together with professional training for teachers. Additionally, an Exchange program of students and teachers between the schools will be set up.

On Saturday the 1st October 2016, Ms. Pailin Limwattanachai KVIS counsellor participated in the East Asia Regional Council of Schools (EARCOS) Institute's Higher Education Admission & Guidance in Bangkok 2016.

She met admission counsellors of universities from many countries such as UK, USA, Germany, China, Ireland, Spain etc. This empowered her to create connections with many well-known universities and able to gather the information about the universities and their scholarships to share with KVIS students.

On the 25th of November 2016, Masaji Iwasaki, the principal of Meijo University Senior High School in Japan, Takashi Ito and Katsuya Hattori, visited Kamnoetvidya Science Academy. They came to discuss  collaboration between the two schools.

Mr. Iwasaki was welcomed by KVIS administrators, students, teachers and staff members.

The visiting team were given the opportunity to observe classes and hold discussions with teachers and students. They enjoyed a trip to tourist attractions near the school, including Mae Phim Beach and Baan Pae Market in Klaeng. Their visit marks the beginning of collaboration and what we hope will be a developing long term relationship between KVIS and Meijo University Senior High School. 

Prof. Dr. Teruhiro Takabe along with his team of representatives from the Meijo University and BIOTEC, Japan visited Kamnoetvidya Science Academy (KVIS) on 15th November, 2016. 

Dr.Takabe and his team were welcomed by KVIS administrators, students, teachers and staff members. The visitors had a campus tour in KVIS and got an impression on the functioning of the school's classrooms, laboratories and dormitories. The faculty and students of KVIS had an opportunity to interact with Dr. Takabe and his team.

Mr. Yoshio Okamoto from Tennoji Senior High School attached to Osaka Kyoiku University who presented his talk at the "Teachers Show and Share" on ocassion of Thai JApan Student ICT Fair (TJSIF-2016) visited KVIS alongside with Mr. Takashi Ito and Mr. Teruyoshi Yamaguchi from Meijo University Senior High School in Nagoya. The visiting teachers were very much impressed with theeffective infrastructure and resources with KVIS.

Mr. Yoshio Okamoto from Tennoji Senior High School attached to Osaka Kyoiku University has been teaching both at the school and the university. He has been successfully setting up the "New Horizontal Seismograph System for School Use Employing Arduino” in Osaka. He will be joining KVIS "Earth Science Team" at the beginning of the new academic year in 2017 to co-teach Earth Science at KVIS with the KVIS Chemistry and the Geography faculty. It is expected that KVIS students will work with Teacher Yoshio Okamoto to set a "KVIS Seismograph System" that can monitor even subtle movements of the earth crust in the ASEAN region.

 Ms. Jill Lai, Educational Attaché, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office affiliated with the Embassy of Taiwan, Bangkok visited KVIS. She gave a lecture on the topic “Taiwan government scholarship for Thai students”. After the lecture, she had a formal discussion with Dr. Thongchai Chewprecha and Dr.Thanit Pewnim on possible collaboration between KVIS and high schools in Taiwan in the near future.

Taiwanese universities are in the Top 100 globally and Top 10 in Asia according to QS world university ranking. Ms. Lai's lecture gave insights on the opportunities and scholarships available with universities in Taiwan. She emphasized that, Thai students don't need to worry about their Chinese proficiency inorder to pursue education in Taiwan, as 80% of the courses available are offered in English. She also introduced the availbility of scholarships for Thai students with the government of Taiwan. Taiwan government scholarships is offered during January - March every year. If the scholarship application gets approved then the prospective student may receive a sum of 15,000 NTD per month.

HRH Princess Sirindhorn visited Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Technology (VISTEC), Wangchan Valley, Rayong on Thursday, the 2nd of February, 2017. She reached VISTEC by 08:10 AM and was welcomed by Gen. Anantaporn Kanjanarat, Minister of Energy of Thailand, Mr. Tewin Wongwanit, CEO of PTT, Dr. Pailin Chuchottaworn, Chairman of Governing Councils of KVIS and VISTEC, along with the officials of various projects of PTT, KVIS and VISTEC. She was also welcomed by the bureaucrats and officials of Thai Army in Rayong Province. Earlier she landed at PTT's Reforestation project at Wangchan, Rayong on 1st February, 2017 around 03:30 PM. She then went to VISTEC campus, met with the Governing and Academic councils of VISTEC and stayed there overnight.

She issued the Sirimedhi shcholarships for outstanding performers of VISTEC. The representatives of KVIS and VISTEC received the brooch of the Princess in the ceremony. This brooch was issued for the new faculty, staff and the second generation students of KVIS.

HRH Princess Sirindhorn gave a special lecture on "Development of National Education for Sustainability" This lecture was attended by the diplomats and delegates from various countries, parents of KVIS and VISTEC cohorts and many other distinguished guests. Many visitors were enable to attend this lecture by the large LED displays in various locations of VISTEC campus.

After the lecture, she visited the labs of VISTEC and then to the exhibition which portrayed achievements of KVIS and VISTEC. KVIS got student publications in internationally eminent journals. These publications were displayed in the exhibition and Dr. Thonchai Chewprecha, director of KVIS explained every exhibits of KVIS. KVIS students also presented their research projects to the Princess. It was indeed a proud moment for the students who contributed towards those exhibited.

KVIS' cohort 2 student Mr. Thanakrit Wongsatit a.k.a Austin proves more on his bird observation skills. Earlier he documented the list of species of birds available in and around KVIS campus and was published here as Part 1.

Now he has come up with the new species of birds which migrated to KVIS campus after his previous list. This proves that the ecosystem has improved in KVIS campus. The birds are listed as below. Rod Nam Dam Hua Ceremony as a part of Songkran this year was observed today at KVIS. People observing this ceremony use to pour water on the hands of elders and then seek blessings from the latter.

The ceremony at KVIS was observed in KVIS in the morning between 09:30 and 10:30 hrs with a sacred chant. Dr. Thongchai Chewprecha, Director along with Senior Advisors Dr. Absorn Meesing, Dr. Pramuan Siripunkaew, Dr. Supattanapong Dumrongrattana, Dr. Ian Jacobs and senior members of KVIS management Dr. Jarunee Tantiwachwuttikul, Manager, Dr. Sompong Wittayasakpan, Dy Director Administration and  Khun Puangrat Intarit, Library Advisor were revered with floral and scented water by KVIS faculty and supporting staff. The dignitories gave their blessings to those who paid respects.

The event was concluded with a speech by Dr. Thongchai Chewprecha.

For a period of ten weeks as a part of professional development program for KVIS staffs, Dr. Adis Khetubol, Physics Teacher with KVIS, visited Queensland Academies Science Mathematics and Technology (QASMT) campus, one of the most successful schools in Australia with specialization in Science and Mathematics courses.

He was given a warm welcome by the Physics Department with QASMT. While in QASMT, Dr. Adis got opportunities to attend several classes for different levels of students. In these classes, he participated in activities like lectures, laboratory demonstrations and examinations. He consider this as useful experiences for his career development.

QASMT provides International Baccalaureate (IB) programme. IB has high levels of strength in the concepts included in the programme. Moreover, QASMT is a multicultural environment with a combination of students and well experienced teachers from different countries and cultures.

With this exposure, Dr. Adis strongly believes that he is confident enough to implement the best practices he got during his visit to QASMT and bring further collaboration between KVIS and QASMT in future.

Info Matrix 2017, an International Project Competition was conducted at International School of Bucharest, Romania during 27th April - 1st May 2017. This competition has been conducted since 2003 as national level contest in Romania and was upgraded as an International level contest since 2013 with a motive towards searching the best student in Information Technology. The current edition of Info Matrix got 513 projects, of which KVIS sent 2 student projects.

"Wind Power by Excess Air" by M5 students Panchanit Choowanich and Gun Pansuwan won silver medal and "The Portable Cardiogram Technology in Real-Life" by M4 students Chayanan Chiangchaisakunthai and Saran Phosuwan won bronze medal. The projects presented by KVIS students were highly appreciated by the jury. These projects were advised by Mr. Theparak V Palma as supervisor and Dr. Thanit Pewnim as Co supervisor.

During this trip, the students and teachers of KVIS were called upon officially by the Ambassador of Thailand in Romania. This trip is a beginning for KVIS' footprints to get more laurels in the future editions of Info Matrix.

A team of KVIS teachers Ms. Thanaporn Thanodomdech, Mr. Guntaphon Tassanasophon and Mr. Warin Poomarin along with 9 students went to New Zealand for getting trained with a better proficiency of their English Language skills during March 11 to May 6, 2017. Mr. Guntaphon went with 3 students to Academic College Group (ACG), Auckland, while Ms. Thanaporn and Mr. Warin along with 6 students went to University of Otago Language Centre (UOLC), Dunedin. The latter is seen as a continuing collaboration between KVIS and UOLC. 

KVIS teachers and students, utilized this opportunity to their level best and improved their English Language Skills. Ms. Thanaporn and Mr. Guntaphon had opportunity to visit and observe Mathematics classes in the campuses where they were trained. Mr. Warin did the same with Physics classes. The entire team organised a trip to Queenstown and enjoyed their leisure time in a wonderful and peaceful manner. 

During this trip, they earned lot of friendship with people from nations around the globe. This team is confident enough to contribute to KVIS in the ways they got benefitted.

A team 5 KVIS students and 2 teachers participated in the “Kolmogorov Readings 2017, the 17th international Science Conference for High School” held at A.N. Kolmogorov School, Russia during 2 - 8 May, 2017. Dr. Min Medhisuwakul, Physics and Astronomy Teacher and Mr. Surakrai Nantaburom, Social Science Teacher from KVIS managed the KVIS team at the Kolmogorov Readings 2017.

Demonstrating excellent projects, our students received many awards in the event.

Ms. Natthanicha, presented her project titled “Microencapsulated Preservatives from Payom Tree Shorea Roxburghii” and was granted an “Audience Award”. Mr. Surayouth, with his project named “Study of Iron Nanoparticles-embedded Carbon Particle Fabricated by Solution Plasma in Waste Vegetable Oil on PEMF and Sustainable Energy”, was awarded with silver medal.

Ms. Kokhao and Ms. Pitchaporn, with their Social Sciences Project titled “Goodness: The Study of Definition between Kamnoetvidya Science Academy and Payubnai Local Community”, was also awarded with silver medal.

Apart from gaining academic and professional experience from the event, our students also explored more about the culture, tradition, and history of Russia by visiting Russian tourist attractions like, the Moscow Kremlin Museums, Peterhof Palace, and watching Ballet performance.

Most importantly, the friendship between Russian teams and Thailand teams from KVIS and MWITS was developed by the event. This friendship seems to continue to develop and play an important role in future collaborations of science education between the nations.

Wai Khru ceremony was observed on 15th June 2017. This time KVIS teachers were given respect by the students from 3 cohorts. The ceremony was colorful and was presided by Dr. Pailin Chuchottaworn, founder and Chairman of KVIS. The students presented the teachers with flowers. KVIS students displayed a scintilating performance in Thai dancing. The students also sang songs as a symbol of paying respect to their teachers. For the first time in KVIS, this ceremony was done with all 3 cohorts.

KVIS participated in the International Student Science Fair during March 19 - 23, 2017 at Korea Science Academy of KAIST, Busan, South Korea. A team of students and teachers with Dr. Thongchai Chewprecha, Principal, KVIS participated in the science fair and presented few of the remarkable projects of the students. Students from all over the world participated in the science fair. Amidst high level of competition, KVIS students won "Most Innovative Research" and "Excellence in Poster Presentation" awards. This event had an objective of networking and extending possible colaboration between students and teachers of KVIS and the host.

KVIS participated in the International Young Physicists Tournament (IYPT) 2017 held during 5 - 12 July 2017 and created history. IYPT is prestigeous international level competition for young talents in Physics. Mattayom 6 students Mr. Teethat Vongvanich, Mr. Pamekitti Pukthalae and Mr. Sarawut Siracosit represented Thailand. The competition was based on the skills in Physics, Emotional quant and English proficiency. KVIS team did their best and bagged bronze medal. It is the first time in the history of Thailand that its contingent winning a medal in this prestigeous competition. The students and Dr. Min Medhisuwakul, Physics teacher who were responsible for this laurel were felicitated and given a warm welcome by fellow students and teachers at the Suvarnabhumi Airport upon their arrival. This proud moment will remain lush green in the pasture of KVIS memories. The students were given appreciation by KVIS family along with Dr. Thongchai Chewprecha, Principal, Dr. Pailin Chuchottaworn, Founder and Chairman of KVIS and Mr. Tevin Vongvanich, CEO of PTT.

KVIS Mattayom 4 students Mr. Pollakrit Lorprasertkul and Mr. Chawapat Thatasawakul were selected by the Office of the Basic Education Commision (OBEC), Thailand to participate in the World Youth International Mathematics Competition (WYIMC) 2017 conducted during 23 - 31 July 2017 at Lucknow, India. OBEC selected them based on a multi level competition among Mattayom 1 - 3 students until the last academic year. Mr. Pollakrit won bronze medal in the individual competition and Mr. Chawapat won Honorable Mention and Excellence in puzzle soving awards. Both of them won silver medal in team based competition. This is indeed a huge leap for these students as soon as they joined KVIS.

International Mathematics Contest 2017 was conducted in Singapore during 5 - 6 August 2017. M5 students Jirayus Jinapong and Ananyoch Ardnaronglid participated in this competition and represented in the contingent of Thailand along with competitors of countries like Singapore, Phillipines, Indonesia, India, Iran, China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Australia and Malaysia.

Jiraus Jinapong won gold and Ananyoch Ardnaronglid won bronze medal in this competition. KVIS feels proud for bringing laurels to the nation.

Prof. Suresh M Hegde, Dean of Students' Welfare with the Department of Mathematics and Computational Sciences, National Institute of Technology (NITK) @ Surathkal, Karnataka, India visited KVIS on 8th November, 2017. National Institute of Technology, Surathkal is one of the leading universities in India for STEM education. He was given a warm welcome by Dr. Ratinan Boonklurb, advisor and teachers of Mathematics and Computer Science department.

Prof. Suresh, visited KVIS following his visit to Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok. He gave a special lecture on the application of mathematics in modern scientific advancements. His lecture was attended by KVIS students and teachers from the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. During his talk, Prof. Suresh motivated the students with the possibilities of utilizing mathematics for higher studies and research.

He gave special emphasis on modern mathematical paradigms like fuzzy logic and graph theory. KVIS team had a fruitful discussion with Prof. Suresh and was facilitated by Dr. Thanit Pewnim. During this discussion, possible collaboration between KVIS and NITK were discussed. Prof. Suresh had a campus tour where he witnessed the state of art infrastructure and research amenities available in KVIS, before leaving to Bangkok.

On 4th November 2017, KVIS administrators joined Japan Super Science Fair 2017 at Ritsumeikan Junior & Senior High School in Japan. The team was led by Dr. Pailin Chuchotthaworn, the former CEO of PTT Public Company Limited and present Chairman of the KVIS Board of Governors. The purpose of visit was to present a proposal to the Executive Working Group of the International Science Schools Network (ISSN) for hosting International Students' Science Fair (ISSF). The ISSF is an international venue for high school students to present research projects. Eventually, KVIS has been granted the opportunity to host the 16th ISSF in 2020.

A week later, KVIS welcomed Mr. Ian Kenworthy, the principal of Camborne Science and International Academy, and Mr. Bob Adamson, the STEM Program Director of Fort Richmond Collegiate, Canada . The delegates visited KVIS during 13 – 15 November 2017 and were accompanied by our team to explore KVIS classrooms, labs and facilities. Mr. Kenworthy gave a lecture on “Teaching and Learning at Camborne Science and International Academy” to KVIS students and teachers.

With the aims on strengthening friendship and relationship between the schools and countries, KVIS inked MoUs with Camborne Science and International Academy, and Fort Richmond Collegiate on 14th and 15th November 2017 respectively.

During 17 - 29 August 2017, KVIS hosted the exchange team from Gymnasium-Boarding School No.13 for Gifted Girls and a representative of Humanitarian Gymnasium Boarding School for Gifted Children, The Republic of Tatarstan. The team consisted of Mr.Timur Agliev, Mr.Fanil  Gilayev, Ms.Nailya Mukhametshina, and four female students.

During the 2-week visit, the team experienced variety of activities. They joined the classes in Mathematics, English, and Psychology with their KVIS buddies. The students also got exposure to conduct the experiment led by KVIS' senior advisor. A session was initiated between the exchange and KVIS students in order to share their research interests. Apart from the academic activities, the team experienced Thai boxing, learning to wear Thai traditional costume, and Thai classical dance.

In order to gain the insight into Thai curriculum and cultural diversity, field trips and homestay weekend were conducted. First was the visit to Princess Chulabhon’s College Chonburi, where the team received a warm welcome from the teachers and students. On that weekend, exchange students also got to stay with host families. The buddies and their parents took them to explore many attractions in Bangkok.

On 25 August 2017, KVIS inked MoUs with Gymnasium-Boarding School No.13 for Gifted Girls, and Humanitarian Gymnasium Boarding School for Gifted Children. The exchange was considered successful as the exchange students and their KVIS buddies made a new friendship for the future.

Dr.Wankyu Park, the principal of Gyeonggi Science High School for the Gifted (GSHS), visited KVIS during 25 - 27 October, 2017. This was regarded as Dr. Park’s second visit to KVIS after his last visit on the opening ceremony of the school in 2015. This year, he was accompanied by three GSHS team members.

Dr. Park and the team were given warm welcom by the principal Dr. Thongchai Chewprecha, administrators, teachers and staff members. They had a campus tour of KVIS classrooms, laboratories and other facilities. Following the tour, GSHS delegates also visited VISTEC and PTT Wangchan Forest Project.

On 25th October, KVIS students and teachers had an opportunity to listen to Dr. Park’s special lecture under the topic of “Gifted Students of The Future”, held at KVIS auditorium. The next day, which marked the Royal Cremation Day of Thailand's late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Dr. Park and the GSHS team offered Sandalwood flowers as final tribute to the late king at Chum Saeng Temple in Wangchan District.

Kamnoetvidya Science Academy (KVIS) is pleased to announce that the College Board has welcomed us as an official SAT Test Centre (71146) in Thailand, making us the first Thai school that has been given this honor. We are now the first Thai school to be able to administer both the AP and SAT tests!

The first test date is on May 5, 2018.

Principal Mikhail Ivanov and Vice Principal Konstantin Stolbov from Lyceum Physical Technical High School Affiliated with the Russian Academy of Science, the Russian Federation, visited the 1st KVIS Invitational Science Fair from 29 January – 2 February 2018. The team was greeted by KVIS administrators and an international affairs team.

Lyceum Physical Technical High School Affiliated with the Russian Academy of Science is a secondary school founded in 1987. The school is situated in Moscow and accept students who are talented in science and mathematics.

Pursuing the same objective in nurturing future researchers, principals of both schools agreed to sign an MoU on 30 January 2018.  It is believed that this would mark a long-term commitment and a stronger relationship between the two schools and countries.

In addition to team-teaching with the KVIS Chemistry faculty, Dr. Ekaterina Mendeleeva presented a special lecture to all students and staff on the “History and Development of the Periodic Table of the Elements”.  During the lecture she placed special emphasis on the work of Dmitri Ivanovich Mendeleev who is accepted by the world scientific community as the originator of the Periodic Table. At one point she expressed her personal opinion of Mendeleev. “He was really a very brave man. At one time he flew under a hydrogen balloon by himself in a storm to collect scientific data. Everyone else was to afraid to go. "  

She recounted the stories behind the naming of the elements related to Russia, namely 101 Mendelevium (Md), 105 Dubnium (Db), 115 Moscovium (Mc), and 118 Oganeson (Og). She pointed out that Argon means “lazy”. If a student is lazy we might call him or her “an argon type of student”.

KVIS’s Students for Gold medal and Innovation Excellence Award 

in International British INNOVATION, INVENTION, TECHNOLOGY EXHIBITION (IBIX) 2020- 

A science project from Kamnoetvidya Science Academy (KVIS) in Thailand won the gold medal and Innovation Excellence Award 

in IBIX 2020, Project of Mr. Passavorn Limmeechokchai from grade 12, Mr. Sukpawat Moungsombat and Ms. Kanok Sirilapyanonth from grade 11 under the research category with the project titled “Modification of Li-S Battery with Irradiated Activated Carbon Derived from Glutinous Rice”.   

IBIX was held from 15 November to 15 December 2020. Due to the pandemic COVID-19, IBIX was held online in London, United Kingdom. There were more than 600 projects applied for awards from all over 32 countries.

IBIX is synonymous to the best in innovation and inventions. The international competition, the “British Innovation Award”, is targeted at all those who would like to distinguish their creativity, innovation, and ingenuity. The distinction is based on the principle of selection and presentation. Excellent inventions are selected by competent expert juries by evaluation based on fields of innovation, ingenuity, potential for commercialization, product design, beneficial concepts, and design concepts. The British Inventor Award is presented in 5 categories consisted of industry, research, international, SMEs and lifetime achievement.

As the project was awarded under the first prize in the national competition of Thailand, GPSC Young Social Innovator SS2; it was selected as the country representative to nominated in IBIX.

On Tuesday, November 7, 2023, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously presided at the commencement ceremony held at Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology. Her Royal Highness conferred graduation diplomas to the new graduates and also granted certificates to two representatives of the recent graduating class of 2023 of Kamnoetvidya Science Academy, Ms. Jinjuta Paripurana and Mr. Phandej Soisamut. 

At the ceremony, the school’s executive committee, representatives from the teacher, student and parent groups were granted a royal audience. Guests were entertained with classical Thai music performed by KVIS students. 

      Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn also visited the Club House at Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology to see the landscape drawings by students and conversed with executives and students at the event.

 On 8-9 June, 72 students in Cohort 9 had a two-day adventure preparing to be good leaders, working best with a team, and coordinating as an effective team. Following were the exciting outdoor-based learning: Trust Fall: trust & trustworthiness, Cherokee: out of comfort zone, Tarzan: self-confidence, Beam: never give up, Figure 8 Knot: problem-solving, Raft: teamwork, Golf Run: communication, Zip Line: take the risk, A-Frame: teams challenge, Smart Frog: mutual respect, Bow Shooting: Aim & focus, Wall 360: together we can, and Cargo Net: aim high and never give up.

 In the final part before saying goodbye, there was a briefing by a team of speakers on various knowledge, ideas, and perspectives, which were interspersed in activities for a full two days. This concludes the 2024 academic year's team and leadership training activities beautifully and impressively.

We expect all students who participate in this exercise will be able to apply their knowledge, experience, and ideas to their daily lives, education, and working with others in society. 

  On Sunday, May 12, 2024, the school held a classroom meeting for the 8th and 9th batch students. In the morning, it was a student performance activity, listening to lectures on school guidelines and performance by Prof. Dr. Boonchoat Paosawatyanyong, the KVIS Principal, lectures on Talk about further education in “The KVIS CG Model: Your child’s 3-year roadmap” by Dr.Jane Kanjanaphoomin, Guidance teacher, and Q&A with Dr. Phornsant Lertwitthayawiwat, Vice Principal - Academic. After lunch, It was a Certificate Awarding Ceremony. The students who are excellent in developing their characteristics will receive a certificate from the school by the principal. Then, in the afternoon, the individual family will gather with his/her homeroom teachers. 

This academic year, KVIS adjusted the concept of the meeting pattern from “Parent-Teacher Conferences” to “Student-led Conferences”.  It was the 2^nd time for this paradigm. Student-led Conferences pattern, we allow students to be the “HERO” of the meeting.  They will deeply analyze and ponder the results of their study, their happiness and success, their stress and worry, etc. in the previous semester. Lastly, they should show their good points to improve for the next semester. Meanwhile, parents and teachers just listen to their students intentionally, and then they (parents and teachers) also share their opinions and suggest points of improvement for their students as well.

Finally, we leave our trust in them to choose their ways to improve themselves. Hopefully, this will give them the feeling of their self and ask them to think creatively. The “Student-led Conferences” is a way to inspire them to be the leaders of their own lives and spring out their potential freely. We just wait, stay beside them, and encourage them to grow to its fullness.

             On April 28, 2024, and on May 4, 2024, Kamnoetvidya Science Academy held the first Parent Meeting Day for the new student of 10th batch (new M.4). We started with on the school background and vision by Dr. Thongchai Chewprecha, KVIS Principal Emeritus, followed by talk on the school performance and the future of KVIS students by Prof. Dr. Boonchoat Paosawatyanyong, the KVIS Principal, and the last speaker was on graduation criteria and the guidelines for living at KVIS by Asst. Prof. Dr. Surachai Thachepan, Vice Principal -Administrative.

Then, we played the group activities of team building among parents by the academic teams. This activity provided opportunities for each of them to know each other and build a good relationship among them. After that, both parents and students met with their homeroom teachers to create a connection among them. All these activities helped them to know and understand more about Kamnoetvidya Science Academy. Having observed the environment during the meeting, we can see their joy and smiles to have new friends both parents and students to begin the new journey here at KVIS. 

        On August 17-18, 2024, Kamnoetvidya Science Academy (KVIS) hosted the KVIS Open House 2024 under the concept "10 Wonders of KVIS" This year, the event was more special than ever, it was the first time we welcomed over 2,000 attendees. The event featured a wide array of fun and exciting activities.

        On the first day, we were honored to have Dr. Pailin Chuchottaworn, Chairman of the KVIS School Board, deliver a special lecture on "Why must it be KVIS?" In his talk, he discussed the history of the KVIS and emphasized the importance of using Science and Economics to develop and enhance agriculture, tourism, and industry, to increase Thailand's GDP per capita. This comprehensive approach effectively answered the question, "Why must it be KVIS?".  This lecture left a deep impression on both parents and students. It was followed by a discussion on the goals, vision, and achievements over the past 10 years by Assoc. Prof. Boonchoat Paosawatyanyong, Principal of KVIS. Then, there was a session on "KVIS Admission," discussing the preparations needed to enter the KVIS, presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Surachai Thacheephan, Vice Principal - Administrative.

• Wonder 9: Technology of Tomorrow
• Wonder 10: The Wonder of the S.E.A

      Each wonder will vary and be diverse, including academics, English language, guidance for university admissions, boarding school life, sports skills, and AI technology. Additionally, we have an Extra Wonder: Q&A Parent’s Style. In this Wonder, the parents of KVIS students answered all questions and shared their approaches to raising their children, ensuring they grow up to be capable and good people with quality.

This event will conclude with a fun activity, students who participate in all 10 stations have a chance to win a cute Gotji, from the PTT Group. Mrs. Thidarat Toommakorn, the Manager of KVIS, and Dr. Phornsant Lertwitthayawiwat, Vice Principal - Academic, awarded the prizes.

          The event went smoothly, filled with smiles and joy. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the administration, the organizing team, parents, and all students for their combined efforts in making this event possible. This event would not have been successful without the participation of all attendees. Thank you for helping create such memorable moments and laughter over the past two days. We look forward to seeing you next year at KVIS Open House 2025!

          On August 24, 2024, Kamnoetvidya Science Academy (KVIS) organized the EECi Young Innovator Contest 2024. The event featured 12 teams (8 schools selected for their STEM projects from across the Eastern region, including Princess Chulabhorn Science High School Chonburi, Suankularb Wittayalai Chonburi School, Chonradsadornumrung School, Chonkanyanukoon School, Saint Louis School Chachoengsao, Benjamaratcharangsarit School, Siyanuson School, and Rayongwittayakom School.

       Mrs. Thidarat Toommakorn, the Manager of KVIS, welcomed the participants and congratulated the 12 selected teams. She also discussed the origins and significance of the event, as well as its objectives. This year marks the second time that KVIS has collaborated with the PTT Group's Education Team to organize the project. This project aims to support and encourage students with knowledge and skills in Science, mathematics, and technology,  which students learn about a subject by working in groups to solve an open-ended problem. This problem is what drives the motivation and the learning.

        This was followed by a special lecture on the topic “Inspiring STEM Sciences and Strategic Project Development” delivered by Ms. Ruetai Chongsrid, Senior Division Director Academic, Curriculum and Learning Media Development Division, National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA). This was followed by a hands-on workshop on "Preparing Posters for Project Presentations" by Mr. Bandit Boonyarit, a Ph.D. in Information Science and Technology (IST) at Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology (VISTEC). During this activity, all students had the chance to design their project posters, receiving expert guidance throughout the session. Afterward, awards were presented to the teams that created the most outstanding and impressive poster designs. The teachers and students greatly appreciated both sessions.

        In the afternoon, all teams met with the committee of the EECi Young Innovator Contest project from KVIS teachers. The committee provided valuable feedback to help participants improve and develop their projects in preparation for upcoming competitions. Additionally, participants had the opportunity to tour KVIS's various laboratories.

          Finally, KVIS congratulates all 12 selected teams and encourages them to apply the knowledge gained from the workshop and the committee's feedback to enhance their projects for competitions in October 2024.

        On August 28, 2024, Kamnoetvidya Science Academy (KVIS) held the KVIS Sports Festival for the 2024 academic year. The event was officially opened by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Boonchoat Paosawatyanyong, the KVIS Principal.

       The morning began with a micro marathon, which saw participation from both staff and students. Trophies and medals were awarded to the participants by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Boonchoat Paosawatyanyong, the KVIS Principal, and Mrs. Thidarat Toommakorn, the KVIS Manager. This was followed by traditional sports competitions, including tug-of-war, flag races, musical chairs, eggplant golf, and sack races. A football match between teachers and students followed, with the teachers winning 8-2.

      In the afternoon, students from each team (Alpha, Beta, and Gamma) performed with unique concepts and creative designs. Their dedication to set preparation and rehearsal was evident, and administrators and staff highly praised the performances. This year, the team that won the first prize in the performance competition was Alpha Team. Beta Team received the first runner-up award, and Gamma Team received the second runner-up award.

          The event was a great success, as we witnessed the true spirit of sportsmanship, love, unity, smiles, and laughter from everyone involved, including administrators, teachers and students who joined our activities. The day ended with a warm party, we would like to thank the parents of students from cohorts 8, 9, and 10 additional support food, desserts, including everyone who contributed to making the KVIS Sports Festival 2024 a memorable event. 💖

       On September 4, 2024, Kamnoetvidya Science Academy (KVIS) became part of the CSR project of PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited (GC), supporting the education of novices from Mongkol Wittaya School (Khao Sap Temple) in Rayong. The project aims to improve English communication skills and prepare novices for university entrance exams. KVIS will assist in developing English proficiency from September 2024 to March 2025. This project has been driven by Mrs. Thidarat Toommakorn, the KVIS Manager.

       From October 7-12, 2024, KVIS organized an Improving your IELTS Scores for students of Princess Chulabhorn Science High School Workshop Program. The program was divided into 2 groups: the first attended from October 7-9, and the second from October 10-12, 2024. This initiative aimed to enhance students' skills in IELTS, focusing on all four language skills, to help them meet the required proficiency standards necessary for university-level studies. Prof. Dr. Boonchoat Paosawatyanyong, the KVIS Principal, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Surachai Thachepan, Vice Administrative Principal, welcomed and officially opened the event. Dr.Jane Kanjanaphoomin, an English teacher at KVIS, is the workshop instructor for this event.

        All participants were highly dedicated and eager to gain as much knowledge and experience as possible. KVIS is delighted to have provided this valuable opportunity to the students of the Princess Chulabhorn Science School and hopes that this workshop will be beneficial for their future.

On October 15-16, 2024, KVIS organized an Embedding Tests Skills in Daily Lessons Program for English teachers from Princess Chulabhorn Science High School. This program was held to enhance IELTS and TOEFL iBT teaching skills in the classroom for English teachers, enabling them to apply the skills and new approaches in lesson planning and teaching to further develop student potential.

      KVIS is delighted to have had the opportunity to enhance the knowledge and provide valuable experiences to English teachers from the Princess Chulabhorn Science High School group. We hope this workshop will be beneficial for English language teaching in the future.

We are thrilled to announce that a team of students from Kamnoetvidya Science Academy (KVIS) has been recognized in the national Creative Media Contest to Honor the Nation’s Institutions (การประกวดสื่อสร้างสรรค์เทิดทูนสถาบันหลักของชาติ), an event held in celebration of His Majesty the King's 6^th cycle birthday anniversary. The contest, aimed at promoting patriotism and honoring national institutions, gathered young talents from across the country.

The KVIS team, named Pla Lai Pueak (ทีมปลาไหลเผือก), comprising three talented M6 students — Ms. Sawitta Chuealee, Ms. Witchayaphon Wutthiphap, and Ms. Natavoranun Suwatanapongched — made it to the top six finalists with their short film titled “6 Cycles of His Majesty's Reign: A Nation’s Peaceful Reign”. Their exceptional work stood out for its creative storytelling, compelling visuals, and the powerful message of unity and prosperity under His Majesty’s reign.

The award ceremony took place on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at the Public Relations Department Auditorium, National Broadcasting Services of Thailand (NBT) in Bangkok. Representing KVIS, the students attended the ceremony alongside their advisor, Ms. Praphaiphan Kewkasem, a Thai language teacher from the Social Sciences, Humanities, and Health Science Department.

Their participation in this prestigious contest highlights the creativity and dedication of KVIS students to using media as a powerful tool for social good. The school is extremely proud of their achievement and looks forward to seeing more innovative contributions from them in the future.

 On October 23, 2024, KVIS organized the 2nd EECi Young Innovator Contest. The initiative was spearheaded by Mrs. Thidarat Toommakorn, the KVIS manager, who has been a driving force behind this project's continuous support and development. A total of 10 teams from 7 schools participated in the contest, including Princess Chulabhorn Science High School Chonburi, Chonradsadornumrung School, Chonburi, Chonkanyanukoon School, Chonburi, Rayongwittayakom School, Rayong, Sriyanusorn School, Chanthaburi, Saint Louis School Chachoengsao, and Benchamaracharungsarit School, Chachoengsao

        In evaluating the projects, expert teachers from KVIS will provide consultation, and advice, and serve as the competition judges. The results of the project evaluations are as follows:  

  🌟  The 1st place prize was awarded to " Increasing stability of roselle anthocyanins by using oxalic acid and citric acid for shrimp freshness monitoring application. " from Saint Louis School, Chachoengsao.

  🌟 The 2nd place prize went to " Flavonoid from fruits peel extraction inhibiting Xanthomonas oryzae activities " from Rayongwittayakom School, Rayong.

  🌟 Honorable mentions were awarded to:

" Development of Natural Rubber Foam Composites Filled with Eco-materials for use as

Oil Absorption Material " from Saint Louis School Chachoengsao.

And " Remote sensing boat for improving water qualities using spirogyra sp. " from Princess Chulabhorn Science High School Chonburi.

  🌟 The Best Poster Design award was also given to " Water Qualities and Depth Survey USV Boat " from Princess Chulabhorn Science High School Chonburi.

         KVIS would like to express its gratitude to PTT Group and Jet Jiffy Shops Co., Ltd. for their generous support in organizing this event. This support has greatly helped foster a sense of unity and create a positive and memorable atmosphere for all participants. We also congratulate the winning teams and extend encouragement to all participants in this competition.  On Sunday, October 20, 2024, KVIS organized a Parent Meeting under the theme of "Student-led Teacher-parent Conference," focusing on fostering collaboration among students, homeroom teachers, and parents. The meeting was unique, with students leading the discussions. The morning started with a student-led drama about residential life, showcasing their experiences and community spirit.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Boonchoat Paosawatyanyong, the KVIS Principal, presented a summary of the school’s achievements and plans, emphasizing quality education. Dr. Pailin Chuchottaworn, Chairman of the School Board, delivered a lecture on "AI & Education 4.0," discussing the impact of artificial intelligence in education. Parents shared that they were highly satisfied with the responses provided by the Chairman.

          The morning concluded with the presentation of certificates to parent volunteers who supported various activities, including the Search Room, KVIS TODAY, KVIS Dream Conquerors, and sending students to international competitions at Suvarnabhumi Airport. Parents also donated kayaks, swan boats, and sound systems to support student development activities. After lunch, awards were given to students excelling in self-development.

           In the afternoon, family meetings continued, led by students. During the discussions, students analyzed their performance from the previous semester, sharing achievements, happiness, stress, concerns, and plans for personal improvements. Meanwhile, homeroom teachers and parents listened attentively, exchanged views, and provided suggestions to help students make their own decisions.

            Additionally, a coaching workshop for parents was organized, focusing on identifying personal strengths (STRENGTHS). Led by experts from the Thai Coaching Institute, including Dr. Therdtune Taisriwicha and Dr. Wirot Chompoo, the small-group sessions helped parents discover themselves and better understand their children.

The handover of the Science Kits was held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, to 17 schools. The kits included Liquid Droplet Magnifying Glass and Simple Lens Demonstration Kits. The KVIS teacher designed and produced the work. The event was honored by the presence of KVIS administrators and the project chairman, who formally handed over the science kits. Mr. Wanlop Phujomjit, Deputy Director of Rayong Primary Educational Service Area Office 2, also attended as a witness.

Additionally, representatives from PTT Public Company Limited; Rayong Gas Separation Plant provided knowledge in a special session titled "Expanding Perspectives and Inspiring Self-Discovery for Pursuing STEM Career Pathways." This was followed by a lecture on "Geometrical Optics" and demonstrations of the science kits conducted by KVIS students.

On Monday, November 11, 2024, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn graciously presided over the commencement ceremony, conferring diplomas to doctoral and master’s degree graduates from the Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology for the 2023 academic year. Her Royal Highness also presented certificates to two representatives from the 2023 graduating class of Grade 12 students from Kamnoetvidya Science Academy, totaling 72 graduates. Ms. Thananchanok Thikharattanamongkhon and Mr. Phumraphi Srisuwan represented the graduating students.

Afterward, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn proceeded to Kamnoetvidya Science Academy to officially inaugurate the AI & Mechatronics Center (AMC). Dr. Kongkrapan Intarajang, Chairman of the Power of Innovation Foundation Committee and CEO of PTT Public Company Limited, presented a report on the 10-year progress of KVIS to Her Royal Highness. He also discussed the purpose behind establishing the AI & Mechatronics Center (AMC). Following the Opening ceremony, Her Royal Highness observed teaching sessions in AI & ROS and an interdisciplinary approach to human sciences. This was followed by a visit to the exhibition displaying plans for constructing a specialized research laboratory building at KVIS. The program continued with a traditional Thai dance performance “Mayura Pirom” presented by KVIS students and a viewing of a science lesson on natural sciences and scientific inquiry (SINoS).

In attendance were executives from the PTT Group, the KVIS board of governors, esteemed guests, representatives from agencies within the Wangchan Valley, provincial, local, and educational administrators, school supporters, representatives from neighboring community schools, and student-parent representatives.

  On Friday, December 13, 2024, KVIS and VISTEC jointly hosted an Appreciation Day to honor the founders of PTT Group’s higher education and science schools on their 10th anniversary, celebrating and recognizing their significant contributions.

           The event began with a panel discussion titled "10 Years of KVISTEC" featuring Dr. Pailin Chuchottaworn, VISTEC and KVIS Chairman, Dr. Thongchai Chewprecha, KVIS Principal Emeritus and Professor Dr. Jumras Limtrakul, VISTEC President Emeritus, who played significant roles in establishing the two institutions. We were honored to have Mr. Kitti Singhapat, journalist and Executive Producer of 3mitinews, join us in this panel discussion.  This was followed by a special talk, "From Inception to the Success of KVIS and VISTEC" delivered by  Assoc. Prof. Dr. Boonchoat Paosawatyanyong, KVIS Principal, and Professor Dr. Jumras Limtrakul, VISTEC President Emeritus, highlighted the journey and milestones of the two institutions. The event concluded with a warm, joyful celebration, filled with smiles, laughter, and a shared sense of achievement.     

           On this significant 10th anniversary, both institutions thank the founders and contributors for their vision and dedication, driving success and inspiring continued impact on society and the nation.

 On Saturday, January 11, 2025, KVIS participated in Children’s Day activities with PTT Group at PTT’s headquarters under the theme “Science for Sustainability: Kids’ Power for a Sustainable Future.” The KVIS booth organized the “Mini Elephant-Powered Boats” game by Ms. Thidarat Toommakorn, the KVIS Manager, along with KVIS students and staff who helped run the activities. Many prizes were given out during the event, which over 1,500 participants attended.

Additionally, KVIS also participated in a Children’s Day activity with Pa Yub Nai Subdistrict Administrative Organization and the Wang Chan Forest Learning Center. KVIS also presented gifts to Wat Pa Yup School and Ban Yup Ta Neng School, sharing happiness and making special memories for children in the area.

On Wednesday, January 15, 2025, the Armed Forces Academies Preparatory School visited KVIS to explore the development of STEM education curricula, the integration of theoretical knowledge into practical innovation, and essential factors for effective STEM instruction.
KVIS Principal and Vice Principal (Academic) warmly welcomed the visitor. They facilitated a tour of various state-of-the-art facilities, including the AI & Mechatronics Lab, Engineering Lab, Physics Lab, Biology Lab, and Chemistry Lab. KVIS students and faculty showcased STEM teaching methodologies and research initiatives during the visit.
KVIS aspires that this visit will provide valuable insights and inspiration to the Armed Forces Academies Preparatory School in advancing its educational programs and fostering innovation in STEM education.

   On January 10, 2025, KVIS organized the 2025 Charity Golf Tournament for Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s Trophy at Siam Country Club Bangkok. The event aimed to raise funds for the procurement of specialized laboratory equipment, allowing students to learn and fully develop their scientific skills. Dr. Pailin Chuchottaworn, Chairman of the KVIS School Board, presided over the tournament

 The tournament was honored by the participation of over 116 people from 32 teams. The event was conducted smoothly in a warm atmosphere, filled with smiles and beautiful memories.

  On February 5, 2025, MCOT Public Company Limited (MCOT) and the Safe and Creative Media Development Fund hosted the “Cyber Detectives 404: Understanding Digital Traps” project for over 200 KVIS students and community representatives. This initiative aimed to enhance cyber awareness by exposing participants to various perspectives on digital fraud while fostering collaboration among KVIS, mass media organizations, network schools, local administrative bodies, and the public sector.

KVIS x PTT – Inspiring the Next Generation of Scientists

       From March 24-28, 2025, KVIS, in collaboration with PTT Public Company Limited, hosted the 5th STEM Camp.

     The camp received an excellent response this year, with 389 teams from across the country applying. Only 18 teams, comprising 90 students and teachers, were chosen to participate in this exclusive workshop.

     Young researchers from around the world gathered on our scenic campus to explore, connect, and share groundbreaking ideas. The first day featured warm welcomes, exciting ice-breaking activities, delicious Thai cuisine, and a briefing to kick off an unforgettable week of science, innovation, and international friendship.

Under the theme “Ignite the Spark of Innovation,” participants were inspired by a powerful keynote on robotic intelligence by Prof. Dr. Poramate Manoonpong and showcased their research in a vibrant poster session. The day wrapped up with a joyful Welcome Dinner, building friendships and fuelling excitement for the days ahead.

In the afternoon, the KVIS Atrium transformed into a vibrant Cultural Fair and Gift Exchange, where participants from around the world proudly shared their traditions through food, games, performances, and handcrafted souvenirs. From Thai dessert to international booths, it was a joyful celebration of cultural diversity and global friendship. 🌍

   On 9th April 2025, participants of the 31st ICYS and the 8th KVIS-ISF embarked on an unforgettable excursion to Sattahip, Chonburi — a day packed with learning, conservation, and coastal fun! From releasing sea turtles and cleaning tanks at the Royal Thai Navy Sea Turtle Conservation Centre to enjoying beachfront lunch and beach games at Nang Rong Beach, the experience offered hands-on insight into Thailand’s marine biodiversity. The day wrapped up with souvenir shopping and cultural exploration at Terminal 21. This trip wasn’t just a break from presentations — it was a meaningful journey into the nature, culture and global friendship. ☘️

On Saturday, May 10, 2025, KVIS hosted the Walk Rally 2025 around the KVIS to strengthen the bond between students, parents, and teachers. Under the concept “Play as a family”, students led the games while parents supported and encouraged them along the way.

     The rally started with four interactive game stations. Families had to think, plan, and play together, competing for the highest score.

   A special dinner party was held in the evening on the KVIS futsal field. Everyone joined in for food, music, and laughter. Parents shared their appreciation for the warm atmosphere and expressed their hope to see the event return every year. 💚💜

      On Sunday, May 11, 2025, KVIS held a meeting for 9th and 10th batch students, starting with a presentation on the overview of KVIS under the topic "Why KVIS" by Dr. Thongchai Chewprecha, KVIS Principal Emeritus. Followed by Dr. Jane Kanjanaphoomin discussing "The KVIS CG Model".

          This year, KVIS continued its shift to “Student-led Conferences,” now in its 3rd year, where students reflect on their progress, challenges, and goals, with parents and teachers offering support and suggestions. This empowers students to lead their growth and unlock their full potential with the support of teachers and parents. 

  KVIS held the Royal Pin Presentation Ceremony for 2025, honoring 72 students from Batch 11 and 3 new staff members. This prestigious event marks their official welcome and recognition as members of the KVIS community.

On June 18, 2025, KVIS students, teachers, staff, and administrators gathered for the Teacher Appreciation Ceremony 2025 at the auditorium. The event was honored by Prof. Dr. Boonchoat Paosawatyanyong, KVIS Principal, who presided over the ceremony.

     These included the ceremonial blessing of books by Dr. Thongchai Chewprecha, Principal Emeritus, singing the song “Phra Khun Tee Sam”, paying respect to homeroom teachers, student pledges to be good learners and citizens, heartfelt speeches, and the Wai Kru tray contest awards.

     Principal concluded the ceremony with an inspiring speech on the school’s mission, student potential, and KVIS culture. This meaningful event marks a motivated and positive start to the 2025 academic year. 💚💜

  On June 21-22, 2025, 72 Grade 11 students from Batch 10 participated in an adventure-based activity designed to develop leadership, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills. They took part in various challenges like Trust Fall, A-Frame, Cherokee, Tarzan, Raft, Figure 8 Knot, and Zip Line, all created to build confidence and push their limits.

KVIS reinforces its commitment to sustainability by joining the “Low Carbon School” project, building on its Green Flag Award from the Eco-Schools program by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).
