Database Applet is a small java plugin that enable you to publish your spreadsheet or tabular data in a web page. JavaSheet presents the contents of a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet in a Java applet. It can read many basic Excel values and some functions. It is also interactive, and can recalculate some functions such as additions and subtractions. It is a great tool for creating complex calculators without the hassels of custom javascript. It does require a recent Sun JVM and browser plug-in, so it is best suited to Intranet deployments.

HSQL is a relational database engine written in Java, with a JDBC driver, supporting a subset of ANSI-92 sql. It offers a small (about 100k), fast database engine which offers both in memory and disk based tables. Embedded and server modes are available.
