Open Source Focus Areas
The Rust programming language has emerged as a reliable and trustworthy technology for developing critical software systems, including operating systems, networking, security, and application frameworks. Our investment in the Rust ecosystem aims to advance its features, performance, and standardization, enabling its adoption in vital industries such as the internet, cloud computing, telecommunications, automotive, finance, robotics, and AI.
We support an open device ecosystem that encourages collaboration, innovation, and accessibility while fostering a culture of transparency, inclusivity, and continuous improvement. One example is our support for the open standard WebXR ecosystem. Its open nature encourages developers to create diverse, immersive experiences that can be easily accessed and shared across various devices, making XR content more accessible to a broader audience.
We develop new storage architecture based on new memory media; autonomous data mobility and management platform, near data computing architecture, and enterprise end-to-end AI solution platform.
The goal of our open-source projects is to share innovations with the research and industry community to promote novel methodologies for technological advances. Relevant fields include IC designs, materials, optics, algorithms and tools in RISC-V CPU and AI/ML architectures, graphics, AR/VR and other applications. Open-source releases focus on proofs-of-concept and research artifacts for reproduction and further advancement by the community. They include software, modeling and simulation tools, and documentation for research and experimentation.
