Friends of the Oakland Public Library
The Friends of the Oakland Public Library exists to support the Oakland Public Library and the broader Oakland community.
With funds raised through memberships, donations, and proceeds from our Old Oakland bookstore, The Bookmark, Friends of the OPL provides grants to OPL.

Visit the Bookmark at 933 Broadway, OPEN DAILY: Sun-Fri 11AM-5PM, Sat 11AM-6PM.
HOLIDAY HOURS: The Bookmark is CLOSED for New Year's Eve (Dec 31), New Year's Day (Jan 1), and MLK Day (Jan 19).
NOTE: We will pause accepting material donations Jan 16-17 to focus on our MONTHLY SALE (Jan 17-18). Please see our donation policy for more info.
Who We Are
The Friends of the Oakland Public Library exists to support the Oakland Public Library and the broader Oakland community.
In addition to a Main Library, OPL has 16 branches, a Second Start Adult Literacy Program, the Oakland Tool Lending Library, and the African-American Museum and Library at Oakland (AAMLO).
With funds raised through memberships, donations, and proceeds from our Old Oakland bookstore, The Bookmark, Friends of the OPL provides grants to OPL.
