- FBReader is a popular (30+ million installs) ebook reader. Works on iOS, Android, Windows, Mac OS, Linux, and Chrome OS.
- FBReader opens ePubs, both unencrypted and protected with Readium LCP. Other supported formats include fb2, mobi, HTML, RTF, and plain text.
- FBReader uses its own book parser and rendering engine. The engine is lightweight, fast, and highly customisable.
- FBReader is not open-source since 2015. For developers, we offer the FBReader SDK, a library for building your own ebook reader.
FBReader for Linux is free. However, starting with version 2.0, its code is no longer open-source. Consequently, the packages available in the repositories of popular distributions are outdated.
The latest version of the app is currently available as an AppImage. For more details, please refer our Linux packages page.
FBReader for Android is on the market since 2009. You can install the app from Google Play, Huawei App Gallery, or download the package directly from this site.
There are several variants of FBReader for Android: free, premium, beta, plugins… Please read the description carefully to understand what exactly you need. Or skip the details, click the installation button and enjoy comfortable reading. :)
FBReader works on all devices with iOS 9.3 and higher. In the free version, the library size is limited to ten books, and online translators are disabled. You can upgrade to the full version for a fee.
The current version does not support third-party network catalogues. We will add this feature soon.
