The Explorer Cubs Program
A Growing History
For decades, Explorers Club members have credited their expeditions and achievements with ideas conceived in their childhood. At our core, we believe supporting the next generation of explorers is integral to our mission and serves a higher purpose – for our members, our community, and our planet.
Since 2016, Explorers Cubs has brought together explorers as young as five to instill a sense of curiosity and ignite a life-long passion for exploration, with fun and interactive sessions led by field-explorers.
Exploring the poles, polar bears, climate change, Ancient Egyptian mummies, the International Space Station, and much more, Explorers Cubs got their hands dirty making volcanoes and piloting underwater ROVs in a pool on the Terrace. Students have met with field explorers, engineers, scientists, authors, musicians, artists and animals – from chinchillas to snakes to wolf dogs. In 2024, the Explorer Cubs program has eight sessions planned, with exciting speakers and educational activities. This program is perfect for children ages 5-10 who are interested in exploring the planet, the wildlife, and plantlife that live on it!

With generous support from
“Opening the eyes and minds of our youngest generation to the wonders of science and nature under the guidance of the world’s leading experts and advocates is an extraordinary and unique opportunity afforded by our Explorers Club.
We are privileged to be a part of the “Explorer Cub” program as it begins its journey, first at Club Headquarters, then as it continues, through our worldwide Chapters, as youngsters share in hands-on experiences of discovery and exploration, and hopefully later become our next generation of Explorers Club members.”
