What our students say

Sam, studying MENg Electronic Engineering with a year in industry
"The main thing I have enjoyed about the course is the mix of academic and project-based learning. In my second year, we had a module where we had to design and test a microcontroller circuit which allowed two microcontrollers to talk to each other using infrared and transmit a voice. That was a fun module which had a nice mix of academic and technical. The teaching staff on the programme are also amazing which I think helps."

Lucy, studying BSc Sports and Exercise Medical Sciences
"Facility-wise, I honestly don’t think you can beat it. On campus, the cricket centre is where I spend most of my time – it’s so well equipped. The gym is really impressive too, especially the Athlete Development Centre which is specifically for performance athletes. I’ve also used the hockey pitch and a few other bits, and everything’s top quality."

Arthur, studying MSc Data Science
"There is so much nature nearby, which is a huge bonus – the north coast is only a short drive away for some surfing, and Dartmoor is one of the only legal places in the UK to wild camp, so I ended up doing a lot of hiking and camping around there. The train to the beach in Exmouth or Dawlish is absolutely great too – nothing beats going down to the beach for sunset with your friends and having a BBQ and some beers."

Ernest, studying MSc Sustainable Business Management
"The student support provided by the University is exceptional and most importantly, the campus in Penryn is beautiful and blessed with many green spaces. My decision to study here was further solidified when I was awarded the Green Futures scholarship. This scholarship has played a major role in supporting my academic journey by offering me stability to focus on my studies in order to achieve my goals. "

Eliza, studying Ba Drama
“We are well-connected within the region, and there have been many opportunities to engage with the local community, as well as work in professional environments, such as performing at the Northcott Theatre. I have developed my transferable skills, such as project organisation, critical thinking and fostering healthy group environments."

Zara, studying BA Computer Science
“I spend quite a bit of time at the sports park as I play competitive netball and tennis for the University. I have also taken part in events organised by the Computer Science society and was a part of the team that organised Hack South West this year, which is a 24-hour hackathon with students from neighbouring universities and professionals across the industry taking part."
