Sir Daniel S. Pena
Chairman
Renowned dealmaker and transformational leader with over 50+ years of transactional experience building multi million & billion-pound enterprises. He recently reached in his own right, billionaire status.
Daniel brings unparalleled strategic vision and a track record of executing complex, high-value transactions across global markets.
Mr. Peña was founder, former Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Great Western Resources Inc., (GWRI), a Houston-based natural resource company public on the London Stock Exchange (LSE). At the time of Mr. Peña's decision to retire, GWRI was operational in the US, the Gulf of Mexico, the UK and South America and had a public market capitalization of $450 million, with interests in coal, and oil and gas exploration and production, drilling and construction pipeline. At the time the company was acquired in January 1997, he was the biggest individual shareholder.
In an 8-year period, starting with only $820, Mr. Peña grew Great Western Resources to $450 million while energy prices collapsed, the price of oil dropped from $40 to less than $8 per barrel and more than 10,000 energy companies in the US alone went out of business. During this massive energy decline, GWRI grew 542,000%, or an average of over 67,000% per year!
Peña had a distinguished career with the US army, entering voluntarily as a private and graduating from infantry Officer's Candidate School (OCS) a 2nd lieutenant at Fort Benning, Georgia, serving as Military Police, Intelligence Officer and Security Officer at NATO Headquarters during the late 60s.
David Fam
Founder & CEO
Visionary founder driving the consortium's bold acquisition strategy.
David's entrepreneurial instincts, combined with discipline, position Dreamers to identify and capture the most compelling opportunities in the market.
He has a background in law and is a solicitor in Australia.
He is an entrepreneur with over 20+ years experience and is a business owner having substantial experience in start-ups, acquisitions, business setup, growth and operations, property development and investment.
He moved to the UK in late 2020 following an 18-year career in Australia where he built through his own family office a business and property portfolio worth over $300M.
He has since committed his time to build business platforms that dominate the industry they choose to enter.
He resides at Seton Castle in Edinburgh, Scotland where he leads and drives forward his substantial business interest both here in the United Kingdom (Scotland and England) and his various business interests in Australia.
These are wide ranging and include the development and ownership of a shopping centre valued at $160M and hotels in Australia.
Recently purchasing Stapleford Park Country House Hotel and Seton Castle he now turns his focus to driving forward Dreamers in the United Kingdom.
John Kelly
Head of M&A - Separations and Integrations
John was the past Global Chairman of KPMG's Integrations and Separations Team.
He created the division and global team, helping assess and deliver value from major M&A for some the world’s biggest companies. He was with KPMG for 25 years, 21 years of which he was a partner.
He has worked on over 1000 transactions worth well over a $1 trillion for international clients on issues ranging from bid strategy and synergy assessment through to planning and implementation.
In addition, he has many years of experience working at C-Suite on strategic change and transformation programmes.
As a senior concurring partner, he was the sounding board on most major multi-disciplinary projects across KPMG advisory providing coaching and advice across c. 50 deals at any one time.
Guilherme Brafman
Chief Legal Officer (Non-executive)
Cambridge educated, corporate and commercial lawyer with over 45+ years qualified experience in corporate, M&A, Private Equity and commercial law, including copyright, media, employment and financial services.
Served over 11 years as a senior partner at CMS Cameron McKenna and then 9 years as London Managing Partner at a leading New York finance, Private Equity and litigation firm Kaye Scholer (now merged with Arnold & Porter), before spending his final years in private practice as a partner at leading advertising, employment and media firm Lewis Silkin.
Since that time, he has acted as adviser to corporate which invests in hospitality-related tech and as an adviser to an FCA-regulated buy-out firm specialising in portfolio acquisitions.
