I surely am saddened at Sarah’s death. Dr Charles Spurr and Sarah treated and cared for my father from 1960 -1970 (passing at 45). I was 5 when Dad was diagnosed with lymphoma and with the remarkable care from these two I often heard him speak of how much he cared and loved Dr Spurr…

My parents owned the building directly across the street. As kids, we were told that the building was the original one room school house. The building was built in 1910. I would love to gather more information on that building.

In 1967 I became the 1st white pastor of a black church i W.Va. history. Remitha Spurlock was a beloved parishioner. I loved that sweet woman!

We would like to use this photo in a documentary we are producing about Robert Covington, the last player to play at an HBCU and the NBA. What would the next steps be? The documentary is set to air February 2nd, 2026 so we would like to get this settled as soon as possible.

Saw that game. Place was packed! Earl was laying on the bench before the game. Very cool! Your dad is Don Williams? Probably the best AU player ever!! Sometimes he would come out last in warmup and slam dunk. They had a great team. Don Williams I’ll be damn!
