Constellations: Poems of the Night Watch is a beautiful fusion of poetry and art that celebrates the cosmos and the ancient Greek myths for which the constellations are named.
Inspired by the starry sky overhead, Arliss Ryan composed poems about the constellations during night watches on a circumnavigation with her husband in their 35’ sailboat. On the other side of the globe, her daughter Kira Woodmansee brought the poems to life with her art.
Their completed book, now ready to be published, will delight all those who enjoy mythology, poetry, art and astronomy, as well as stargazers and travelers both active and armchair.
Arliss and her husband Eric Sponberg also offer an exciting talk about their voyage—“Around the World in 80 Minutes on Corroboree”—to share with audiences what it’s really like to sail a modest sailboat across some very big seas.
