The Pictorial History of the Holocaust Paperback – January 1, 1992

4.8 out of 5 stars (19)

An unbelievably vivid chronicle of the Nazi "Final Solution", with more than 400 photographs. "Although many books chronicling the Holocaust contain pictures . . . there has never before been one as expansive as this. These photographs demonstrate in the most powerful way the depths to which mankind can sink".--Booklist.

Interesting and disturbing though photos are not "new"

Interesting and disturbing though photos are not "new"
This book, published in 1990, is 34 years old. Some of the included photos may have been "never released before" 3 decades ago, but since then, are widely available. We saw many of them at the excellent Auschwitz-Birkenau museum and also at the Imperial War Museum in London. That said, it's an impressive collection all in one package and a comprehensive overview of a period of time we must never forget. I bought a used edition in excellent condition. The paperback cover was a bit beat up and dog eared but the pages inside were perfect. No need to pay full price for a new copy!

A heartbreaking study of the holocaust through photography. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a harsh dose of empathy.

    Excellent publication
Depicts the atrocities of Hitler's regime with many pictures not seen before and adequate matching text. Will racism ever go away?

Actual photographs are a large part of the documentation if the Holocaust. This book does a fair job.
