“Start writing, no matter what. The water does not flow until the faucet is turned on.” ― Louis L'Amour

Here is the church.
Here is the steeple.
Open the door,
but where are the people?
They should be inside.
There’s plenty of room.
Due to pandemic lies
they’re meeting on Zoom.
They were told temporarily
stay home for your health,
yet it was propaganda
sneaking in by stealth.
We need to recover
this freedom we lost.
Let us ask ourselves
“Will we pay the cost?”
It’s up to you.
It’s up to me.
Perhaps once again
we will dump Boston tea.

Say a prayer for our president.
Attacks against him seem not to relent.
Small thing to show you really care;
for our president, say a prayer.
Into his ears, so many voices
demanding he make important choices.
Some speaking from deception or fears
so many voices into his ears.
In spite of the tension, Lord, help him stand
for righteousness and freedom of our land.
When on your knees, his name do mention.
Lord, help him to stand, in spite of the tension.
An enormous task, at the helm of a nation,
He could benefit from your supplication.
God’s wisdom and guidance for him, do ask;
at the helm of a nation, an enormous task.

1Timothy 2:1,2 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people,
for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.

Call in the lefties,
those rambunctious boys,
to hammer and clamor
and make lots of noise.
Fill folks with fear.
Tell them some lies.
Make them stay home
under health safety guise.
Bark out strict orders.
You have the potential
to keep open businesses
you deem essential.
Use some scare tactics
of falsely called science,
lest the masses get wise
and rise up in defiance.
Daily and nightly
spew out fake news.
Blind obedience of people
you don’t want to lose.

Call the true Christians
to get on their knees
and cry out to God
in desperate pleas
for wisdom to know
how to fight the corruption
that oozes and flows
like volcanic eruption,
for restoration of freedom
that teeters and lurches
threatening long closure
of our much needed churches,
for courage to speak,
the gospel, still spread
and boldly declare
our God is not dead!
Our grit is not sufficient
God of battle, our Lord.
Give us the strength
to wield your sword.
Use common folks
like you and like me
to help us preserve
sweet liberty.

Ephesians 6:12-18 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.
Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.
In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one;
and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,
praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,

Each day I’m engaging with this thing called aging,
and sometimes it doesn’t seem fair.
I let out a sigh as in mirror I spy
on my chin a new granny hair.
It seems my forgetter works better and better.
Now what was I going to do?
For those in your youth, let me tell you the truth.
This reality is heading toward you.
My get up and go never more says hello.
It left without saying adieu.
Rocking chair is my friend, right up till the end.
With marathons, I think I’m through.
Age spots dot me like sprinkles. There are plenty of wrinkles.
Most of physical beauty has waned.
Yet I do not despair. For with joy I declare
I can see one thing I have gained.
Through life’s school of hard knocks and its aftershocks
and Biblical application,
wrongs I have spurned and lessons I’ve learned
give me cause for celebration.
I’m now somewhat wiser, can be an adviser
to those traveling life’s shifting road.
By God’s grace be spurred to give encouraging word
and perhaps lighten somebody’s load.
Though steps are measured, still there’s one thing I’ve treasured
in spite of youth taking backstage.
Experiences of life have left me rife
with the gift to bear fruit in old age.

Psalm 92:12-15 The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.
They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;
To shew that the LORD is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

He was no stranger to the attacks of the enemy and his minions. Although he could not see them, he sensed their presence, and he was sure that confrontation would come. Confrontation must come. There were hints from the congregation that the insidious infiltration had begun. He had prayed, and he was ready. It was time to lay the deceptive demon to rest. Thursday night would be the moment of truth. The pastor stepped to the pulpit and opened up his worn, brown, leather covered Bible. A tension filled the air that was reminiscent of the prelude to the showdown at the O.K. Corral.
Suddenly Scriptures fired off in rapid succession, quick and powerful, one after another, repeatedly pommeling their target. Unseen to the naked eye, but in the Spirit, false doctrine buckled and fell over. Stone cold dead.

Hebrews 4:12 ” For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
Psalm 119:104,105 “Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
Psalm 119:89 “For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.”
Psalm 119:130 “The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.”
Proverbs 9:6 ” Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.”
Proverbs 15:32 “He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.”
John 17:17 ” Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.”
Just imagine you could bring a Bible character back to this earth for a season. Who do you think you would choose? I chose Peter, and here is why.

Peter, it’s such a blessing to have you back on earth
because our world is confused when it comes to the second birth.
Jesus gave you the keys. You’re the man who has the facts.
Please dispel all fake gospel news by taking us back to the book of Acts.
Show us that you never said to accept the Lord as our Savior.
You never preached or taught that that is how we find God’s favor.
You taught that Jesus died, the cross was His death sentence,
and we to sin, must also die, through the way of repentance.
After His awful death to a borrowed grave He was carried.
We identify with this, when in Jesus’ name baptism we’re buried.
Three days later Jesus resurrected after He had been killed.
We rise up to walk in the newness of life, when with His Spirit we’re filled.
The evidence of this infilling in God’s Word is clearly shown.
When His Spirit takes up residence, we’ll speak in a tongue unknown.
Yes, take us back in time, please, Peter, to the day of Pentecost,
when you preached that inaugural message to a multitude so lost.
So many believe in doctrines today that have totally been perverted.*
Let us read and heed God’s original plan, that we might be converted.

“He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” Matthew 16:15-19
“Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call.” Acts 2:36-39
“I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.” Galatians 1:6-8
Five talents Phil was a very gifted man.
Compelling truth in his oratory was heard.
There was no doubt in any that he was
proficient and anointed in teaching God’s Word.
To many, he showed the way of salvation
just as Peter preached in Acts 2 and 38
and though multitudes rejected the message of truth
there were some redeemed from a damnable fate.
Two talents Tessie was an average young lady
although not brainy, she had a great heart.
She searched out ways to help the needy
and in doing thus, God’s love did impart.
Her selfless acts of kindness and care
aided those helped to open their spirit
that otherwise would be closed to God’s plan
now their ears were susceptible, so they could hear it.
One talent Winston was a fainthearted fellow
although he had obeyed the plan of salvation.
He was content to keep his mouth shut
and not offer to any escape from damnation.
He thought, “I could never win a soul to truth.”
Love for God was trumped by fear of rejection
so he never reached out to neighbors or friends,
thinking it would be his protection.
And so the time of reckoning came
for these three who had passed away
each in turn had to stand before God
to give account on the judgment day.
Five talents Phil came and stood before God
and for him, there was nothing but praise
for the work he had done, the souls he had won
during his earthly days.
Two talents Tessie was next to approach.
God’s response to her made her glad.
Although not the brightest of the bunch
she did her best with the talents she had.
As one talent Winston drew near to the Lord
His head was hung down in shame.
For somehow he knew instinctively
his reward would not be the same.
Slowly he began to offer excuse
of why doing God’s work was denied,
how he thought that none would believe him
why his light he chose to hide.
God said, “When I filled you with my Holy Spirit,
I gave you just what you would need
to impact your world with the gospel
yet My words, you chose not to heed.
And so the plight of one talent Winston
who made excuse and believed not
cast into a place of great torment
that eternally does burn hot.
A lesson we learn from this parable
if we’re so inclined to hear
let the wise in heart apply it
with a godly and reverent fear.

Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
These words of Mary to servants were spoken.
Their obedience to Jesus would be the token
of a miracle. They were about to view it.
Jesus told them, the waterpots to fill.
Perhaps this seemed a strange request,
but their compliance would soon be blessed
with water turned to wine. What a thrill!
What is it that the Master asks of you?
Does it by chance to you seem odd?
Please remember that obeying God
is always the right thing to do.
I’m convinced more miracles we would see
if when God speaks to us through His Word
we would become doers of what we’ve heard.
It’s the sure path to victory.

“His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece. Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it. When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now. This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.” John 2:5-11
“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” James 1:22
.
I miss the way my country used to be,
and there are times it brings me close to tears.
A Christian nation no longer is she,
and truth be told she hasn’t been in years.
The loss I mourn, my country, ‘tis of thee.
So far removed from founding roots are we.
The things for tolerance we have embraced.
Many have no clue and cannot see
sustaining principles being replaced
in what is called sweet land of liberty.
The crisis, how to solve some would debate;
to restore morality upon our sod.
I fear to think about the future fate
of a nation that has turned its back on God.
I pray that we repent fore it’s too late.
