    Hi There,

I’ve been getting the following error on the site for the last 12 hours or so:-

2025/08/21 06:57:39 [error] 72425#72425: *104037 FastCGI sent in stderr: “PHP message: PHP Fatal error: Uncaught FacebookAds\Http\Exception\AuthorizationException: Cannot call API for app 221646389321681 on behalf of user 368995009592139 in /www/[client_name]/public/wp-content/plugins/official-facebook-pixel/vendor/facebook/php-business-sdk/src/FacebookAds/Http/Exception/RequestException.php:174

My host (Kinsta) has been emailing me this. The site is still up and working fine, but yeah would rather not get these emails. What could be causing this issue? The client has a marketing team, but they are based in the US (I’m in the UK), so emailed the client asking if they’ve done something.

    Same here.
This error occurs since 11pm UTC last night.

There is nothing on the plugin’s admin UI suggesting that there is an error.

Since it is happening for multiple accounts, is it something we need to do anything, or is it on Facbook’s side only?

Could there be a message added to the admin UI about this issue?

I started seeing this error across a handful of unrelated domains last night for sites using with this plugin too. I suspect there must be an issue with the facebook end of the API, or maybe they deprecated something this plugin uses?

    Hi everyone,

We were able to replicate this issue when the W3 Total Cache plugin is active.

    Please try the following:

    • Go to W3 Total Cache Plugin Settings > Page Cache > Advanced Settings > Never cache the following pages
    • In “Never cache the following pages”, add these two entries:
      • /wp-admin/admin-post.php
      • /wp-content/plugins/official-facebook-pixel/core/class-servereventasynctask.php
    • Save Settings

If you’re also using Database Cache and Minify – you will have to add these pages as exceptions as well.

Please let us know if you’re able to resolve the issue or need further assistance.

    Kind regards,
    Marija

I’m getting the same error, and I do NOT have W3 plugin installed.

    Hi @alexdx ,

Please open a new thread on the forum detailing your issue, and share a list of your active plugins.
You can copy it from the Tools » Site Health » Info section.

    Kind regards,
    Marija

I’ll have to open a thread too. These handful of sites use wp-super-cache plugin, not W3 Total Cache. They also have WordFence, so if it’s caching or firewall that could be related…

    Hi there,

    I don’t have W3 Total Cache installed, only Kinsta’s in-built caching.

Hi everyone, this issue has been resolved, and you should not be seeing these errors any more.

Please let us know if you need further assistance.

It seems to be working fine now. I’ve not received an error in 4 days.
