Welcome to Wiseblooding! In these pages, you’ll find a wide assortment of reflections on faith, family, poetry and life, all filtered through the light of faith to which Flannery O’Connor refers in the above quote. What O’Connor identifies as “distortions,” I’m more likely to call ironic. The world we occupy offers beauty and excellence, often right alongside crudities and dissonance. How to make sense of a world run amok?
I find it’s indispensable to focus on and acknowledge elements of grace even when the horizon seems bleak and unwieldy. It’s impossible to recognize grace without fine-tuning one’s senses. For me, that means maintaining a healthy sense of humor and yielding (daily!) to a renewed understanding of God’s sovereignty.
The usual trend online is to generate income through a website, but you’ll find no monetary pitches here. (I’m a contrarian!)
