Welcome to Westknits Year of Socks 2026! I can't wait for another year filled with colorful sock designs. You will receive an automatic PDF update at the beginning of each month, starting with the first pattern called Smock o'clock Socks in January. The January sock will require just one skein of solid or semi-solid fingering weight sock yarn. The other designs will vary between one-color, two-color, or multi-color stashbusting socks for leftovers and mini skeins. Some designs will also feature self-striping yarn. Stock up on your favorite sock yarns for the year and get ready for lots of different techniques like smock stitches, slip stitches, cables, shorts, a bit of brioche, modular knitting, simple relaxing patterns, and more!

STEPHEN WEST
Stephen West’s prolific shawl designs and innovative use of color have made him an internationally recognized designer.
Stephen was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma; moved to Chicago, Illinois for school, and later moved to Amsterdam, Netherlands, to study choreography. Stephen's designs have been knitted by thousands of knitters all around the world. He currently lives in Amsterdam where he co-owns Stephen & Penelope, a yarn boutique in the city center.
In 2019 Stephen and his business partner Malia Mae Joseph realized a long-held dream by launching their first yarn brand, West Wool.
