TechCrunch: Shoutworthy Let’s You Endorse A Friend in 140

We’ve killed off reputation before, but it somehow refuses to die, with third party platforms like Unvarnished gaining traction in an entirely new sector of social, reputation currency. Quietly launching today out of DUMBO, Brooklyn (“the SOMA of New York City”) comes Sawhorse Media’s Shoutworthy, a social client that attempts to steal some of LinkedIn’s thunder and cash in on the unmitigated human desire to share via Facebook and Twitter.
Shoutworthy was written about in TechCrunch, read the full story here!
The Listorious Interview

We created Listorious to allow users to curate Twitter by tagging their lists and profiles in order to crowdsource a powerful Twitter people search engine. We now have over a million users in our searchable directory and many experts in a wide range of topics.
Today we’re excited to announce that you can now interview people by asking them questions on Listorious.
For example you can interview NY Times food columnist Amanda Hesser about restaurants, Stocktwit’s Howard Lindzon on the market, actress Marlee Matlin on her causes, Edelman SVP Steve Rubel on public relations, or personal finance expert Suze Orman on your money.
By answering questions through Listorious rather than directly on Twitter, your answers are organized, in depth and have archive value. It’s like a magazine interview.
We’ve also added some pre-made questions in your inbox called the “Listorious Interview” that you can choose to start answering right away. Whenever you ask or answer a question you can choose if you want a tweet to be sent out.

Tagging Yourself on Listorious
with 1 note

We’re happy to announce that you can now tag your Twitter profile on Listorious.
How to tag yourself on Listorious
1. Simply click on the login link at the top of the page, allow Twitter to enter you in back to Listorious
2. Click on the ‘Edit Yourself’ link
3. Enter a few tags separated by commas, that describe you and the things you tweet about.
That’s it! Adding tags to your Twitter profile on Listorious makes your profile more search visible. We’ve improved our People Search feature so that you can easily search people on Twitter for any given topic. The search works through a combination of indexing tags, lists you’re on, and keywords in your profile description. Here’s an example:

We hope you find our Twitter People Search feature useful. Let us know what you think by tweeting at @listorious or leaving a comment.

Shorty Awards Winners Unveiled In New York City

On March 3, Shorty Award winners were announced at TheTimesCenter in New York City during an eclectic ceremony hosted by CNN’s Rick Sanchez. The evening was full of surprises, including a video by William Shatner reading some of his favorite tweets from @sh*tmydadsays, and a stage-rush by weird category finalist David McDonald protesting a win by The Llama.
Winners giving 140-character acceptance speeches included Newark mayor Cory Booker, Sesame Street’s Grover, and indie rocker Ted Leo. The night also featured video speeches by Suze Orman, Rachel Maddow, Brazilian pop superstar Ivete Sangalo, and a performance of Othello in under 140 seconds by the Reduced Shakespeare Company.
Haitian TV presenter Carel Pedre, a finalist in the innovation category, received a special humanitarian Shorty Award for tweets that shed light on the devastating earthquake in his country. Janis Krums received a Real-Time Photo Shorty Award for his camera phone shot of U.S. Airways flight 1549 in the Hudson River.
Once the ceremony was all over, winners, finalists, and other members of the twitterati gathered for a cocktail reception to meet, greet, and tweet some more. We’ll be posting photos from the night to Flickr and clips to YouTube over the next few days. You can watch the video in its entirety at ShortyAwards.com.
