I love the idea, but wouldn't you have to punch a hole in the firewall? Do people normally have ports that speak the rabbitmq protocol open to the internet?

Sure. Here at Mozilla ours is accessible to the internet of course. I would imagine most people will hang something in the DMZ and have it proxy to an internal broker...who knows :-). I just know Mozilla is using github and will eventually need visibility into these changes, hence this service hook.

I've tested this locally and it works pretty well. In the future I'll do more configuration, error checking, and SSL support
