This year's conference will be bigger, more international and more spectacular than last years already very exciting event! We found a new location to host over 350 participants and over 15 speakers. Check out the 4 day-program for an overview of all activities.

Introduction to Netzke
» Posted on October 22, 2010Sergei Kozlov just finished his a very nice talk about ExtJS and Netzke.
ExtJS is a cross-browser javascript library for building rich internet applications.
The goal is to provide re-usable components that can help you to bring the desktop to the web.
Using ExtJS can be a bit difficult to implement however so Sergei decided to make it easier for Rails developers.
Using Netzke you can generate all ExtJS components from simple Ruby classes with the following in mind:
- client/server code in one class
- single-point configuration
- javascript encapsulation
- OOP
- unit testability
- composition
- nestng
- dynamic loading
- speed and efficientcy
After a short introduction Sergei jumped right into a live coding session where he showed off how easy building components with Netzke really is.
The netzke-basepack gem gives you an awesome frontend for a model with just a few lines of code.
This makes it very easy to do ExtJS/Rails CRUD Application in 7 Minutes
Be sure to check out https://netzke.org/ for this very nice suite of gems!
