Targets
Targets: Introduction
Zendesk targets allow you to send notifications to external destinations (targets). You simply configure a target and then add it as a “Notify target” action in the relevant triggers or automations. Targets include Campfire rooms, Twitter accounts, URL’s and many others.
Twitter Target
Send notifications to Twitter streams – see a detailed example of how to send notifications to a twitter account.
Campfire Target
Send notifications to a Campfire chat room of your choice.
URL Target
URL Targets are very powerful – use them to push messages to any URL via either HTTP GET or POST. Useful to make callbacks to your own servers or integrating to services like SMS gateways. See a real world example of integration with an SMS gateway
HANDLING TARGET FAILURES
Zendesk will detect if a target executes and fails, and will automatically disable a target after it fails 20 times. Your account owner will be notified by email when this occurs. Reactivating the target will reset the failure count.
