I recently finished Visualizing Data for O'Reilly. It was published in December 2007 and can be found at Amazon and elsewhere. The book covers the data visualization process (Chapter 1), and a couple projects you'll find on this site, such as Salary vs. Performance (Chapter 4), Zipdecode (Chapter 6), and Anemone (Chapter 8).
