Your sidebar count may be misleading 

I emptied mine, now it says I have one message but nothing shows

kay atleast i'm not the only one.  but now i can't delete my sent messages...

I've tried numerous times to delete direct messages I no longer need yet they never go away!!!!!! It's completely nerve-wracking!!! Anyone know what's going on???

Mine's not even working.  I can see there are 13 but if I click on it and it spins and then nothing.  Page doesn't change.

I haven't even received a direct message yet on twitter, my sidebar says "2" for an empty box :[

I've tried deleting the same message about 20 times and it's still there.

My DM count says 4 but I can only see 2!

When trying to remove DMs, I get no response at all. I've been experiencing this a couple of days now. Today, when I click on the reply icon on a DM, the browser do nothing. Both behaviors happen with Safari, Firefox, and IE7.

I have been dealing with this for weeks! all I get is  a generic page from twitter! its of no help, Now I can even delete them or pm back!

SAME HERE! i can't delete inbox or sent messages and it is DRIVING ME NUTS.  Been trying for two days now...

Me too, trying to delete DMs and just get the little gray dot and the messages stay there. Also my DM count is off.

Direct message box still shows a message that I deleted. Also having problems deleting a DM

I am having the same issue everytime I try and delete a DM a window comes up asking me if I am sure I click ok and the trash can dissapears and a grey solid circle shows up in his place.  My messages are still there both sent and received its getting a bit annoying now.  IT USE TO WORK what happened.

Same issue, can't delete, but also if I click on the envelope to reply to a direct message, the message space opens up and I enter a message. But when I click "send" Windows (I use Vista home at home, and XP professional at work) opens a dialog box and asks if I want Windows Explorer to find a program to open the file.   Eeeeek!

I'm experiencing this too.  It says 10 messages but there is nothing there.  Sometimes I also have problems actually deleting messages.  It just seems to take ages to process and then nothing.  I have to click to another screen to refresh.

I cannot view my received messages, Ive received a very important one and now it seems to have disappeared. :-(

for 2 or 3 days my dm count has been off by 1, now when i try to reply to a dm i get an error, the reply button works to throw you to the text box, but the Send "username" a direct message drop down box stays blank

my dm count is off by one. one that never ever showed up but i got an email saying it was sent to me.
