News - 2006/04/25

- The panel showing the picture information in the viewer has now a blurred background - pretty cool :-)
- Added an EXPERIMENTAL, unfinished, directory chooser that borrows the style of iTunes
- Added a star notation widget in the picture information panel, but it is not connected to any data yet !

- Updated the picture viewer to show animations on zooming and rotations ! Still requires some optimizations !
- Configuration is now saved into a PERST embedded database (check the %user.home%/.jveez directory)
- This version has only been tested on my WinXP machine, please report any problem

What is it ?

This project aims to create a cool picture browser using Java 5.0.
It was started a few months ago to play with the new features of Java 5.0. At some point it became usable, so we decided to make it an open source project.

Wanna try it ?

We made an early developer build available via Java WebStart.
Note that you need to have Java 5.0 installed !

The future

JVeez is still under work but we plan to release a first version soon. Documentation will also follow.
We are also working on a next version that will support a build-in database to store extra meta-data about the pictures. This will allow a user to "tag" certain pictures and allow for fast image searches.
