“Formal” Control Panel and UI Review Begins

This week marked the start of the “formal” internal review of the Control Panel code and the UI by the entire Development team. Here’s the basic outline of the process.

2.0 Progess Update, Lockdown

As of this week ExpressionEngine 2.0 has achieved “feature lockdown,” meaning its highly unlikely anything new will be added to the initial release at this point.

There are still components and code that need to be converted to CodeIgniter or implemented but nothing new will be added. The majority of these are small improvements under the hood or to various sections of the Control Panel and not “features” in the Plugin, Extension, or Module sense.
