One of the difficulties module developers run into is the never ending struggle of belonging. That is, where should this module go? Never fear, layout is here. Well, if you're writing a module related to PostgreSQL, then there's no need worry. If not, then you may initiate your panic sequence immediately.

Layout is a simple project attempting to provide the framework for a PostgreSQL module hierarchy. For instance, rather than having frontend interface modules all residing in directly site-packages, they can be put into postgresql.interface; giving the module context and allowing the module developer to exercise their creative side in coming up with a unique word relating to elephants and pythons.

Goals

Define a general package layout for which PostgreSQL related Python modules can be stored and effectively classified.
Continually meet the general classification needs of PostgreSQL related Python module developers.
Provide general PostgreSQL support modules whose material is not substantial enough to justify independent development(version parser, bytea encoding, etc).
