What's New - Fall 2007 Release with Replication Monitor
MySQL AB is proud to announce the Fall 2007 Release of the MySQL Enterprise Monitor. The Fall 2007 Release adds features that are designed to make it easier for DBAs to manage MySQL Replication in scale-out environments.
This latest release adds new advanced replication monitoring, graphs and best practice advisor rules, including:
- New Replication Monitor - The new Replication Monitor provides a real time replication health and status check on master/slave performance and latency issues.
- New Replication Topology Auto Detection and Grouping – Master/slave relationships are now auto detected and grouped giving DBAs immediate visibility into their replication topologies.
- New Replication Advisor Rules - 15+ automated Replication Advisor Rules monitor your master/slave configuration, status, performance and latency and provide you with specific advice so you can keep your environment running optimally.
- New Administration Advisor Rules - The Administration Advisor now monitors the number of aborted client connections to help identify network problems or malicious attempts to connect to a MySQL Server.
- New Performance Advisor Rules - monitors and advises on MyISAM table-level locking variables that can be configured to improve performance.
- New Graphs - MySQL Enterprise Monitor now includes a gallery of 20+ graphs. The new graphs help DBAs better correlate InnoDB I/O related activity with OLTP application performance.
- Easier Installation and Configuration, Lower Operating Overhead – A simplified installation and configuration process lowers the overall system requirements of the MySQL Enterprise Monitor.
- New Support Diagnostics - Users can now extract the specific application stack and log files most commonly used to diagnose problems related to their specific implementation of the MySQL Enterprise Monitor. This enables the MySQL Support team to more efficiently diagnose and fix issues.
The MySQL Enterprise Monitor helps DBAs manage their MySQL servers with less time and effort, and helps them reduce downtime by advising them of problems before they become costly outages.
