PatternsCentral for Java is a community devoted specifically to patterns in Java.

Patterns help us capture our experiences and relate them to form a more complete body of knowledge. They also serve as a common vocabulary for streamlining the communication of complex problems and solutions. In this way, patterns can be a powerful way to organize, relate, and communicate our experiences.

Our mission at PatternsCentral for Java is to improve the state of pattern knowledge and application throughout the Java community at large:

• Educate - From articles and tutorials to discussion forums, we will continually educate both novices and experienced practitioners alike in just about every nook and cranny of patterns. When I say we, I mean every member of what we expect will become a burgeoning community.
• Innovate - Although the Java community has been among the most active with respect to patterns in software, there is still much to do. Here we will nurture and encourage further research and development of patterns and pattern technology for Java.
• Communicate - We really want to emphasize the notion of community at PatternsCentral for Java. This is a place where you will hear the latest pattern news, learn about the latest research and trends, and discuss anything and everything related to patterns with your peers.

There is already quite a bit of information available regarding patterns. PatternsCentral for Java is your diving board into that rapidly growing pool of information -- a central place to discuss this information with peers from around the world.
