Welcome to iText Support in NetBeans IDE!
iText in NetBeans IDE lets you generate PDF files from any type of file in the IDE's Source Editor. Check out the sources and you'll end up with a NetBeans module project. Install it. Then, when you right-click in the Source Editor, you'll see a new "Create Report" menu item. Use it to generate a PDF file from the current file.
Note: This presupposes that you have taken the following steps:
- Download the iText JAR file, which you can download here.
- In the IDE, create a module suite (name it anything you like), add the nbitextsupport module that you get here, plus a library wrapper module project that wraps the iText JAR file.
- Install the library wrapper module.
- Make sure the nbitextsupport module that you get here has a dependency on the iText library wrapper, otherwise you won't be able to build it. Build the module.
- Install the nbitextsupport module.
Once you've installed it, you'll see the menu item described above, as well as a toolbar for setting the font type and an incomplete extension to the Options window for setting the page orientation and other typical page settings.
Here is a complete overview of all the functionality provided:
Thanks to Sandip Chitale for the "Copy Path" functionality.
Please feel free to modify/improve/extend this open source project, because... innovation happens elsewhere!
