The buildable OpenJDK released

Sun has released "most of the code" of Java6 and current snapshot of Java7 to OpenJDK project under GNU GPLv2. The remaining code is mostly related to font rasterizer in Java2D, according to Rich Sands, community marketing manager for OpenJDK at Sun.

After almost 2 years of development, Apache Forrest 0.8 has been released. Forrest is a powerful, XML-based publication system. Sun Tech Days in Saint-Petersburg

Sun Microsystems has announced Sun Tech Days conference in Saint-Petersburg, April 11 - 13th. Several new software projects will be presented, including new developments for Java and Solaris, as well as solutions for many practical problems. On April 13th there will be NetBeans Day and OpenSolaris Day, and separate Java training.
