PowerPC Kernel Archives

Welcome to the PowerPC Kernel Archives at ppckernel.org. This site has a dual purpose: to provide useable, user end kernel binaries for a variety of PowerPC hardware configurations, and to provide kernel build stability information to kernel developers. The latter of these is a work still in progress -- E-mail Toby if you'd like to get involved!

The newest addition to the site, the specialized kernel section, is aimed at supporting specific hardware setups (e.g., the Powerbook G4) or PowerPC linux distributions (such as Yellow Dog or SuSE). For more information visit the specialized kernel page.

PowerMac Builds

The original vision of this site was to provide access to the PowerPC kernel development trees (i.e., pmac, benh, bk, etc.). Now that most of the PowerPC development has moved to the official tree, we've decided to offer PowerMac builds of the official source tree in place of the original PowerPC trees (that is, builds using pmac_defconfig). Find below this selection of kernels.
