Two men have been jailed for drugging and raping vulnerable under-age girls they found walking the streets.
Shazad Rehman, 30, was jailed for 18-and-half years and Bilal Hussain, 23, was jailed for 17-and-a-half years at Bradford Crown Court.
Judge Jonathan Rose said the men “engaged in a course of conduct which has become increasingly and depressingly familiar in this country”.
Hussain, of Leeds and Rehman, of no fixed address, raped three girls.

A self-confessed “monstrous and disgusting” man who raped a teaching assistant was yesterday jailed for 11 years and three months.
Bed shop owner Fiazul Islam, 31, picked up the woman as she walked home after a night out with colleagues in Keighley before raping her twice in the back of his car.
Bradford Crown Court heard he was caught by police after her mobile phone – lost during the attack – was found in his bedroom when a 15-year-old girl accused him of a separate sexual offence more than a year later. Sentencing him for two counts of rape and one of sexual activity with a child, Judge John Potter told him: “You are prepared to violate and humiliate your victims to satisfy your own wicked sexual desires.”

A woman with cerebral palsy was attacked by three masked youths in broad daylight.
The 51-year-old victim was walking under a motorway bridge in Bolton when the teenagers grabbed her wrists and demanded money.
A passer-by disturbed the young thugs who fled before they could steal any cash.
The attempted robbery happened on Loxham Street, Moses Gate, at around 11.40am on Tuesday (March 5).
The boys were described as Asian, in their early teens, and were wearing dark hooded tops, baseball caps and had covered faces.

The former owner of a Worksop restaurant who breached safety and food hygiene regulations has avoided being sent to prison.
But he was banned from ever running a food business again.
Worksop magistrates heard how Mohammed Abdul Kashem, 38, had risked causing a gas explosion or E.coli outbreak because of how he managed Monsoon in Ryton Street.
Bassetlaw Council brought the prosecution against him after officials carried out numerous inspections on the Indian restaurant.
On some occasions their improvement notices were complied with, but on others the promises were ‘filthy’.

A man is critically ill in hospital with head injuries after an altercation with a group of youths.
The incident happened at about 4.45pm on Wednesday, in King Street, in the city centre, when a 44-year-old white man became involved in an altercation with one of a number of black youths, said police.
The man, who was walking his Rottweiler dog, fell to the ground and suffered a head injury.
He is in Queen’s Medical Centre, in Nottingham, in a critical condition.

A woman was raped in a Hounslow car park after she was pulled into a stationary vehicle.
The 26-year-old victim was assaulted opposite Yates’s bar in Bath Road at around 11.40pm on February 1…..
…..The suspect and the car have still not been traced.
He is described as a black Somalian, around 30 years old, 5ft 7ins tall, of slim build, and wearing beige trousers, a black jacket and a white T-shirt with a design on the front.

A takeaway owner has been forced to pay £2,000 after a shard of glass from a shattered lightbulb was discovered in a chicken meal.
A customer alerted public health officers when they found the glass in a £6 rice, couscous, chicken and potatoes dish ordered from Divan Restaurant in Hertford Road, Enfield Highway, in November 2011.
In an interview, the restaurant’s 35-year-old owner, Abdurahim Teymuroglu, admitted a lightbulb smashed when he was changing it and pieces had fallen into open lamb and chicken dishes resting under the hot display cabinet.

THE Gazette can reveal the dirtiest places to eat in Blackpool.
The Gazette names the 14 takeaways, restaurants and hotels across the resort which have received zero stars out of a possible five when they were visited by hygiene inspectors last year.
And Blackpool Council today called on them to “drive up standards” in order to bring their businesses up to scratch.
While most of the eateries we have named have either declined to comment or were uncontactable, staff at one premises claim it has cleaned up its act and say it fully expects to be given a higher rating the next time the inspectors come calling.

Gladstone Primary school in Peterborough, which has 440 pupils, is dominated by students from the Punjab, with smaller groups from Afghanistan, Lithuania and Latvia.
But despite the language barrier the school has scored highly in its Ofsted reports and the headmaster sees bilingualism as an advantage.
Christine Parker, the head, told the Sunday Times: “More and more of the world is going bilingual.
“The culture at our school is not to see bilingualism as a difficulty.”
It is thought the school, in the immigration hotspot of the agricultural area of the Fens, is the only school with no pupils who speak English as a first language.

A 24-year-old man was updating his Oyster card at the ticket machine around 7pm on Saturday February 2 when another man approached him from behind.
He grabbed the victim’s neck in a sleeper hold, and dragged him to the ground, stealing his mobile phone and wallet.
The brave young victim followed the suspect on to a London-bound train and asked for his possessions back but the man walked off into another carriage and left the train.
British Transport Police released CCTV images on Monday from the Greater Anglia train and they are urging anyone who recognises the man to come forward.
