My Journey
wow it has been quite an amazing journey to get here today. I have been seeking for so long and it was just so tough. you might be wondering what i’m seeking. well…i wasn’t sure either. it’s just a feeling of not being satisfied with life. I was never interested in school and being a quiet person i never really made much friends in school and felt like an outcast. I just wanted to be free. but i still did pretty well in my exams! i remember vividly i would be impressed with the heros that i read in books. i wanted to be like them. to save people? i was living in my own world pretty much and getting into mood trips was quite common.
My first foray into religion was just before uni. i followed my cousin to her school’s buddhist society activities and got to know a bit abt buddhist teachings. i was shaken… by the teachings as it resonated strongly with me. I stuck to Buddhism for some time before moving on to other beliefs. Well everything came about quite naturally, I guess i knew there was something incomplete and moving on was natural. Christianity was somewhere in the background too as my bros are converts and the primary school i studied in was a christian school. The religion itself didn’t resonate much with me but somehow i felt i understood what Christ was saying and to me he was not the person that was depicted in the christian religion. A muslim friend encouraged me to find out abt Islam but i felt it to be too restrictive. So far i had relied on my intuition to guide me and it was interesting coz i never knew where it would lead me. There were many new age spiritual stuff out there and i think the modern person would be very much appealed by it. It talked of love yet there wasn’t any hint of religious dogma which i feel most modern people are trying to avoid.
I felt the guidance. as one book after another i felt the connection like a thread, it was leading me somewhere. I was tired and lonely. Then one day by coincidence (well there are no coincidences in life) I came across the path that was meant for me. How did i know? well my heart told me so. I was home.
