The Powers That Be
For the weekly photo challenge: Thankful
Although they often get in the way of my photography, I am thankful for the power lines running alongside the roads and through the fields everywhere I go.

This monstrosity spans a highway just south of Oklahoma City. I did my best to capture it as my husband barreled down the road, first on our way to the State Fairgrounds for a 4th of July shindig and then on the return trip. Better luck next time, I hope – the ‘thing’ changes colors, although too slowly for a photographer in a speeding vehicle.

The ‘origin’ of these faces remains a mystery. Nobody in my family will confess to either the creation or the photography, although I will confess to being happily surprised to have discovered these pictures on my camera.
