- Monte Carlo Methods for High-Dimensional Multi-Target Tracking (SPADS CDT).
About me
I am a Professor with a Personal Chair in Statistics and Data Science at the School of Mathematics, University of Edinburgh. My research interests are in computational statistics, statistical signal processing, and probabilistic machine learning. My theoretical and methodological work covers Monte Carlo methods, Bayesian inference for static and dynamical models, and statistical modelling. A large part of my recent research focuses on importance sampling and sequential Monte Carlo.
I am currently heavily focused on probabilistic forecasting of climate tipping points, funded through the ARIA Forecasting Tipping Points programme. Additional interests include statistical ecology, biomedical signal processing, wireless communications, and energy forecasting, among many others.
