Hi, I’m Val. I’m glad you’re here!
I started out as a newspaper journalist, found my way into the art studio, and spent 25 years carving birds, insects and botanicals to create bas-relief clay tile murals throughout the South. For the past two decades, I have been working as an artist/naturalist in rural Alabama. I draw nature, and teach other people to draw. It’s the best job in the world.
