Friday Mars Blogging.
N165 is the "Coronation Rock," that is, the first bit of Mars to be blasted by Curiosity's laser. Gotta break some eggs, I suppose...

Friday Mars Blogging.
This week a man-made mess means mixed emotions...

I think some anthropologist or another described man as the naming animal. The fact that the blast damage from Curiosity's landing is now officially the Goulburn Scour Mark is pretty good proof of his point.

Good question.

Map of the day.

I've come to appreciate our mail-in elections as an effective block to Republican voter suppression efforts.
Of course, that doesn't mean anything unless you fill out the ballot that's sitting there on your desk and mail the damned thing in.
Hat tip to Millard Fillmore's Bathtub.

Analogy of the day.
John Cole...
Romney’s style of politics is that of his dressage horse in the London competition, an elite ballet set to classical music during which the hoi polloi are not supposed to talk.
