About | Underwood's Weblog
Dear Linda,
Please know that Bill and I
will keep you and your family in
our thoughts and prayers.
Love, Ellen
Good Morning Ms. Linda….Another beautiful day in Atlanta and I just wanted you to know so many of us are praying for you and your dear family! Loved the Grandchildren photos. I’ve found that the dearest things in life are the faces of your Children’s children! I am trusting the Lord will give you the added strength you need for this day and by tomorrow, you’ll be stronger than today! Hope you can feel the hug is just sent!
Love to all, Susan music
PS Norman-you have the “blog” down pat!!!
Just spoke w/ Andy – so many apologies for not responding earlier – just getting into this “blogging”. What a wonderful way for everyone to stay updated and in-touch. We’re anxious to hear that this latest surgery gets the healing process on track and enables Linda to start her walking very soon. Hope Santa brought a new pair of walking shoes – she’s gonna wear them out!
Please know you are all in our thoughts and prayers. Jill, you are doing an amazing job of tending to your parents, and working, and keeping everyone updated. WOW – you’re amazing! But we knew that before…you’re someone very special.
God bless you all.
Love, Judy & Bill
Dear Linda,
Sorry to hear that you are going through such difficulty. While we don’t understand “why”, we know that God is our higher power and he will not forsake us. You and your family will be in Terrell and my prayers. Hang in there and keep your faith. Look forward to seeing you all in March. Betty Widgeon Bowles
Good Morning Linda,
Gloria keeps us informed and shared your blog address and your courageous battle with cancer. I know you are aware of the many friends you have and classmates from the LHS Class of 61 who are keeping you in their thoughts and prayers. Sounds like your family support system is top-notch and your medical resources unsurpassed. Your faith and determination will help you heal. Can’t wait to see you at the 65th birthday bash in LaGrange. I’m sure there are many angels in heaven watching over you. Love, Pat Allman Traylor
Judy,
I am Peggy Boggus’s sister and have been following your progress with her and your sister Judy. We continue to join the many to lift you and your family up in prayer. Keep that determination I understand you have!! God bless you as you journey through the next treatment sessions.
Love, Melva Smith
Good morning, Linda!
So who knew about this blog business! I thought a “blog” referred to a more severe beating than a mere “flog.” After reading all that you have been through, I still think I had it right.
The St. Simons team have been frantically calling each other and asking “What is happening/” So It was so great to read all the posts and have a blow by blow on the journey you are on. What a miracle –amazing! I am glad you are home now and enjoying family.
Jil you are doing a awesome job of keeping all of us connected. I was in Atlanta briefly — caught the bad weather but the trip was saved by babysitting our grandkids. We ended up having a great but very busy time.
You can be sure that we will be keeping up with you on this “blog” and praying harder than ever. Hope every day is better.
Love,
Jenny
Linda. I’m not good at this, but I want you to know that I love you and I really appreciate being able to keep up with you this way. The picture of you and Jill is beautiful! Love the hair do! You are always in my prayers! Love, Benny
Linda,
I intend to keep your lovely note forever totally amazed how with all you had to endure during your adventure you are still such a lady. I talked to Whit and Jane and we can’t wait to have an “eating” rather than “sipping” lunch with you.
I think of you and pray that you get better every day one inch at the time….
Your friend Sabine
LINDS, CARRIE JUST SHARED WITH ME THAT YOU WERE IN PIEDMONT. I JUST WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT INSPITE OUR NOT KEEPING IN TOUCH, I THINK OF YOU OFTEN. NOW I KNOW WHY GOD HAS ENCOURAGED ME TO JUST LIFT YOU UP IN PRAYER EACH TIME I THINK OF YOU AND YOUR WONDERFUL FAMILY. WE HAVE SEEN HIS MIRACLES BEFORE AND I AM BELIEVING THAT WE WILL AGAIN. LOVE IN OUR MAGNIFICENT LORD, DELAINE MURRAY
I miss seeing my yoga buddy!!! I’m so glad you are going home soon and look forward to lunch at Henri’s soon……..or I’ll deliver your favorite to you! lots of love! lee
Linda,
You have always been such a special lady to me. I remember sitting down at Jekly having afternoon tea and cokes with yall and the boys.
Know that I will be praying for you and your family during this time.
Love Kelly Busbee
Dear Linda,
We all understand that you are in pain. Your feeling conflicted
which you mentioned in you last message is uncalled for.
We are all your friends, we are all praying for you, but we
all understand that this not a good time for personal visits.
Please, we love you and because we are your friends,
we understand no visit. I consider writing on your very own
blog to be a cyberspace visit.
Love, Ada
Dearest Linda
I am sorry to hear about your recent struggles. You continue to be a shining light for all that know you and love you. What a wonderful example you are of determination, faith, joy, honesty and love of family.
Our prayers for you, your family and cargegivers at this time in your journey.
Bill & Terrilyn
Dear Linda,
Ann Carter and I didn’t get to Jill’s house, but I read all
that was posted for the evening.
“Do not be anxious.” You are in that famous hedge of
protection that Polly always invokes.
Love, Ada
I check almost everyday to see what you all are up to.
The transfusions are a bother, but today you can be Dracula.
Happy Halloween. You are an important part of our
constellation – a stellar soul.
Love, Ada
Linda, you go girl. I rather enjoyed Norman’s description of
campaigns past. Your cutting and pasting must have done
wonders.
Let Norman tell his stories after he tells us about you.
Love, Ada
Dearest Linda,
I have just returned from Nashville and have brought back
Sheila, my father’s caretaker. Madeleine will have her back
surgery Monday.
May I tell you one more time what a grand woman you are?
With much love, Ada
Dear Underwood Family,
I knew last night that the time was near for your beloved Linda
when I read Norman’s message. Linda is embedded in our hearts
and minds as ever the loving family member, as ever the optimist, as ever faithful.
When my Dutch sister in law Mireille was in Piedmont Hospital, Linda visited and gave her hope.
I think Linda did not fear death; I think she loved her family,
her church, and her interests more.
I hope your sorrow will be mixed with joy that Linda finished
her battle bravely.
Love to all the family and to Linda
This is the first time I have looked at the blog for several
weeks. I’m so glad that your blog is still up and running.
I began to attend the Polly prayer group soon after my
mother died in 1993. The group, including Linda, has
sustained me all these years. My father passed away
this fall.
There have been many prayers for all of us and I think
there will continue to be many more prayers.
Blessings to all. AA
