CARTHAGE STUDENT ENTREPRENEUR POLE
PEEC is dedicated to fostering an entrepreneurial mindset among students at UCAR and supporting their innovative ideas. It operates in synergy with existing structures and initiatives, enriching the entrepreneurial ecosystem of the university.
Created in 2018, the Carthage Student Entrepreneur Pole (PEEC) was established under the SALEEM project (https://www.projet-saleem.org/), co-funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ Programme and led by the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF).
Grounded in learning by doing, training and mentoring are at the heart of PEEC’s mission. As a leading university incubator, PEEC is committed to promoting the entrepreneurial spirit of students at the University of Carthage (UCAR) as well as those of the affiliated ISETs, and to supporting their innovative and entrepreneurial initiatives through a sustainability-oriented approach, in synergy with and complementary to existing actions and structures.
Under the supervision of the UCAR Presidency, the PEEC is run by a director and three mission officers, in consultation with a Steering Committee (COPIL) including, among others, administrative staff and partners. A network of PEEC academic referents is designated within the institutions for the reception, follow-up, and local support of student entrepreneurs.
- Promotion of entrepreneurial culture and innovation across the University of Carthage
- Award of the National Student-Entrepreneur Status (SNEE)
- Advice and tailored support for student entrepreneurs
- Validation of competencies acquired by student entrepreneurs in line with the competency framework
- Training and capacity building for academic referents
- Access to PEEC spaces (coworking spaces, satellite centres/antennae, FabLabs, digital spaces)
- Support for the creation and development of start-ups
- Organisation of entrepreneurship-related workshops and competitions
- Networking with key actors in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, including support and funding organisations
- Support for research valorisation and technology transfer (Docto’Entrepreneur 4.0 – Scientific Entrepreneurship Programme)
Student entrepreneurs’ projects are supported and monitored within the PEEC by academic referents and professional mentors
How it works?
- Under the SNEE, students can develop their entrepreneurial project as part of their university curriculum, supported by PEEC
- The NSES is available to students of all levels and disciplines who have a clear, innovative project idea
- Applications may be submitted individually or as a team of up to four students, from different disciplines and/or institutions
- The status is awarded at one of three levels, following a jury evaluation, based on your motivation, profile and project maturity

The PEEC – Student Entrepreneur Hub of the University of Carthage is supported by a strong network of national and international partners including public institutions, innovation and entrepreneurship networks, universities and support programmes, companies, NGOs, incubators and accelerators, financial institutions, and media actors—along with training and consulting firms, legal advisors (lawyers and jurists), and communication specialists. These partners contribute across the full entrepreneurship value chain: awareness-raising and entrepreneurial culture promotion, student project scouting and evaluation, mentoring and coaching, co-incubation and acceleration, expert and market matchmaking, support for fundraising and investment readiness, capacity building for focal points and student entrepreneurs, media visibility, and the co-organization of flagship events (competitions, hackathons, bootcamps, demo days, pitching and networking sessions).
