Ordinary Things is the web repository of writing by Zan Manuel. A journalist by trade, I’ve been writing since I was 11 years old. After multiple lost computers and dead hard drives, I decided it was time to collect my work some place that couldn’t be lost with the swipe of a thief’s hand. And so, here we are.

You’ll find published articles here, as well as a collection of my poetry and excerpts of longer pieces I’m working on. Comments always welcomed.

Currently, I live somewhere in the Deep South with more cats than I should be allowed (don’t tell my landlord). I’m addicted to Dr. Pepper, science fiction and urban fantasy. There may be moments of feminist outrage on this blog as well. You have been warned.
