VLADIMIR TOM VALTER was born and raised in Czechoslovakia (presently Czech Republic). He started riding at the age of five and competed as a junior and young rider in Czech Republic. He graduated from agricultural college specializing in animal husbandry (the care and riding of horses). Tom moved to the United States in 1970 and became a U.S. citizen in 1985. Tom is the winner of several championships and awards at state and national levels including the following:
USDF Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medals (all awarded prior to 1986);
USDF HORSE OF THE YEAR awards with several horses;
Recipient of the Equestrian Bowl National Dressage Championship
Presented to the USET (1986)
Recipient of the Lifetime Achievement and Contribution to California Dressage Society;
1970’s Competed at all levels of California Championships (Horse: Helios)
1986 United States Representative to World Championship in Toronto, Canada (Horse: Tudor);
1986 USET Grand Prix Champion (Horse: Tudor)
1989 Team gold medal at Olympic festival (Horse: Zoolog)
1991 Team Silver Medal at Pan American Games in Havana, Cuba (Horse: Zoolog)
1999 Bronze Medal USDF Grand Prix Vintage Cup (Horse: Dominique);
2000 Grand Prix Champion Dressage Association of Southern California (Horse: Elmegarden’s Ziam);
2001 FEI Dressage for Five-Year-Olds top five horses for Region 7 (Horse: Silvina);
2001 IALHA Champion Dressage Horse Second and Third level (Horse: Silvina);
2004 Reserve National Champion Andalusian Lusitano Horse Association (Horse: Uno-HM);
2005 USDF Reserve Champion at Prix St. George level (Horse: Charman)
2006 IALHA National Dressage Champion-Second Level (Horse: Ultriz Interargro)
2007 IALHA National Dressage Champion Fourth Level (Horse: Ultriz Interagro)

I rode with you when I was a wee lass through Pony Club (Tarzana) at a clinic or special lessons etc etc. Where are you now? Your name came up when I spoke with David Donnelly recently. Would love to know if you were local (I’m on Ojai).
