Landame-Division Champion!

Cheers to all of the Lusintanos and Andalusians at the World Equestrian Games!

Have you been watching the WEG dressage competition? The Lusitanos and Andalusians are well represented by many countries. Brazil brought their famous Lusitano stallion “Portugal” and Spain brought their “Fuego II” who got nearly 74%.
Brazil continued their team with Lusitanos and Spain had more Andalusians and, if I remember, one Lusitano. In addition, Australia came with a Do Retiro Lusitano (from Villa Do Retiro where many of our horses were bred.) Another name familiar was Dos Pinhais, the breeder who bred our horse Ursula, and our young mare Amaretta has the breeding from this farm.

Tom and Ultriz 2009 USDF All-Breeds Champions

Tom Valter, riding Ultriz Interagro, are the 2009 United States Dressage Federation All-Breeds Champions at Prix St. George for International Andalusian Lusitano Horse Association. The pair ranked 15 in the United States for all breeds and all organizations. Congratulations!

Rebecca and Ziam Win 2009 CDS Junior FEI Highpoint

After many shows and hard work Rebecca and Elmegardens Ziam won the California Dressage Society FEI Highpoint for Juniors in 2009. Congratulations! The pair will continue to work and compete at the FEI level.

Bendito III is 2009 USEF Horse of the Year Top Five

Benny’s First Snow

Zotti came from the snowy cold of the midwest to sunny California for Christmas. (See December 22 post) But Andalusian, Bendito III, had his first snow fall for Christmas. He looks warm and comfy in his new winter blanket.
Nola sent a picture from Kansas with the following caption:
We had lots of snow this week…and Benny had his first day playing in
the white stuff. He was mildly amused with the whole thing for a California
