The Long Beach Time Exchange is a community network that facilitates the sharing of time and talents for the common good.
Members provide services to others, and receive one time-credit per hour. They can use the credits in turn to receive services — or they can donate them to others.
Browse our Membership Handbook for info about posting requests and offers, setting up exchanges, and much more.
Over 20,000 hours of services have been exchanged through the Long Beach Time Exchange since it started in 2010.
These include core functions for a healthy society — childcare, transportation, eldercare, household repairs, homework help, Spanish and ESL classes, cooking, respite care, office assistance, tutoring, yard work, small business development, companionship, housecleaning, and anything else that our members decide to offer!
Members are encouraged to launch community benefit projects and initiatives that bring neighbors together around some common values.
Prior to the 2020 pandemic, Long Beach Time Exchange was a non-profit. It is now run solely by volunteers. If you are interested in to helping out the LBTE (and earning time-credits at the same time), contact us by email lbtimeexchange@gmail.com or call our phone line (and leave a voice mail): (562) 270-3928
