Hello my fellow followers!

Sorry for the long wait. School has just been consuming my life, and I’ve been finding it hard to find any time to just relax and write a blog post. But here I am! Anyway, last Friday was my kitten Ginger’s first birthday. Of course, we showered her with extra cat treats and pets, while Fiona (who turns one in two weeks) quietly watched from a distance. Both of them have a terrible addiction to these tuna cat treats that we bought a few weeks ago, so every morning now I’m greeted with big eyes and meows that probably translate into “Please feed me!”

Well, getting back to school and such. Summer is very slowly approaching, and I only have just over a month of school left. Of course, there’s finals, plenty of last minute projects, and the dreaded final report cards standing in my way. Let’s just hope it all goes by quickly, because I have a great summer planned!

Long Time, No See…

Hello my Fellow Followers!
With the combination of Spring Break and school, I hadn’t found a good time to write a new post (until now, of course!) I had a wonderful Spring Break, which was at the end of school. I went to Florida to see my Grandparents and close friends, and I spent a lot of the time at the beach. Yes, it was wonderful break from all of the endless cold we had before that in D.C. Luckily for me, I didn’t get sunburned (almost) and I came back to school with a nice tan!

I was also able to have a bit of a celebrity encounter over my Spring Break. While on my plane to Florida, I was able to meet a man named Toby Turner (a famous Youtuber who goes by the name of Tobuscus.) Now, being the huge fangirl that I am, just HAD to say hi, since he was sitting really close to my seat. It took some guts, but I was able to say hi and get a picture with him. It was a chance encounter, and it only lasted about 10 seconds, but it was probably the greatest moment of my Spring Break.

Now, Easter time approaches, and Choir duty awaits. Since the girls alternate special services with the boys, I won’t have as much of a load on my back as last year. However, Next week will be a wild one. If you’re in D.C, you should definitely go to the Cathedral and hear the choir (I’ll be there…)

Happy SnowPatricks Day!

Hello my fellow followers!

So, there’s been a lot of snow this winter, and it’s really beginning to bother me. Especially since my Spring Break starts in two days, and there’s still snow on the ground! Yes, we got a snow day on St. Patricks Day. I’m not exactly complaining, but at the same time I feel like spring is never going to get here. Sigh.

Anyway, I am excited because I’m going to Florida on Saturday! At least then I’ll finally get the warm weather I’ve been waiting for.

Choir and Such…

Hello my fellow followers!

I don’t think I’ve taken the time to talk about my new “music career.” Well, I sing at the Washington National Cathedral as one of the girl choristers. It’s so much fun, and I’ve been a part of it since last year. I know my dad loves to write about my choir activities and such all the time, yet I’ve never gotten around to writing a whole post about it. I always love being able to sing in front of hundreds of people, and some schools from far away. It’s a wonderful experience, really, and I hope that someday you’ll be able to come and hear the choir!

Well, this was a short post, and I’m sorry about that. I do plan on writing more about my choir experience, though.

Winter Time!

Hello my Fellow Followers!

Yeah, I know, it’s been a while. And I know I said I would write more often, but school and choir have kept me busy for the past few weeks, especially with the end of the quarter coming up (hooray!) But I mostly want to talk about my favorite part about winter (besides Christmas and my birthday.)

It’s snow.

We’ve gotten some decent amounts of snow in the past few weeks. Unfortunately, my school is not so easy when it comes to giving out snow days. Nothing is worse then seeing your sisters jump for joy for having a snow day while you pack up your bags after a delay. Sigh. But the best part is that I get out earlier than both of my sisters, so I’ll be the one jumping for joy in 3 months.

Back to the snow. I don’t know why, but snow has always been this beautiful part of winter. One of my favorite things to do after wiping out from sledding is lying on my sled in the middle of my backyard and listening to the silence of the snow. It’s things like this that really make me happy.

Of course, there’s also the thrill of whipping down a snow covered hill at full speed…

Singing Madness!

Hello my fellow followers!

Yesterday, I had a lot of singing I had to do. First, it was the annual evensong at the National Cathedral that has all of the choirs from Church related schools come together to sing (the whole thing is called the Mid-Atlantic Episcopal Schools Association.) It was a lot of fun for me, because we were singing some pieces I am quite fond of, but there were some many kids! I’m not the best with large crowds, so it was a bit of a struggle for me. Also, the milk I had had at breakfast that morning was not agreeing with me. Well, I managed to pull through, and I’m glad I did. However, right after the service, we had to jump onto a bus and drive out to Rockville for a recording session. We had the honor of recording a Chorus bit from an opera called “Oh My Son.” It was fun, mostly because we were in this big and fancy recording room, but I also loved the piece we were singing. 

Well, that’s all that new for me!

Birthday Bash and More

Hello my fellow followers!

Yes, it has been a while. I didn’t even realize just how long it had been until I saw the date. With the end of the first semester out of the way, I have a bit more free time on my hands (not really.)

Anyway, a few weeks ago, I turned 14! It was really exciting for me, especially since I got to take two of my best friends to my favorite go-karting place. I know the leap from 13 to 14 may not seem big, but it is for me. I haven’t been able to write about it before, but let’s just say that I had a wonderful birthday. Also, happy 49th to my dad! It was this past Sunday.

Ginger and Fiona are growing at a rapid speed. Ginger has developed the love of sitting by our faucet in our kitchen and drinking from it. On the other hand, Fiona is absolutely terrified of water. I guess that’s normal for cats, though.

I also managed to get their favorite laser toy working. Whenever I pick it up, Ginger sees me and comes running over, and crouches down with her eyes wide open. They sure love it.

Anyway, I plan on trying to write more frequently. But with the combination of school and choir, I’m not sure. I will write soon though!

The New Year Ahead

Hello My Fellow Followers!

December has been quite busy, and I haven’t been able to find the time to sit and write a post. But now, I have. Christmas was great for me and my family. I got an Xbox 360, which was quite a surprise since my dad has always denied it. It turns out that it was his idea to get it, and he wanted to trick my sisters and I. Well, I’m not complaining. I’m also very excited because I am going snowboarding with my mom and sister this thursday for my birthday. I’ve never been, but my mom looked me in the eye today and said “no injuries.” I am a bit accident prone, so I’ll be crossing my fingers.

The kittens have developed some interesting habits. Ginger likes to scratch my dresser, which sits next to the litter box, whenever she uses it. This noise is quite annoying, and I’ve been unable to stop it. Fiona doesn’t really have bad habits, but she loves to sleep on my bed, and can come running across the room whenever she hears the sound of me opening the can of kitten food. They are definitely a lot bigger, and I will have pictures up soon.

I’m really happy that 2013 is finally going to be over. It feels as if it has stretched on forever, yet went by so quickly. With all of the good and bad that has happened, I’m definitely ready for a new year.

The Start of the Holidays

Hello my fellow followers!

It is finally December, and being the childish-like person I am, I am getting hyped about Christmas. Of course, any time I mention Christmas around my dad, he just grumbles. He thinks it’s too early, but it’s already December, so why not.

We do not have a Christmas tree yet, but we plan to get ours this weekend. That’s because my grandmother is coming to visit next weekend. I always enjoy her visits, so I can’t wait!

On Monday, I got a laser pointer for the kittens, and they absolutely LOVE it. All I have to do is wave it around and the kittens will run up the walls for it. Ginger, the more feisty of the two, is especially fond of the laser. In fact, she chased it so much, that she started panting like a dog. I now have to be a bit more careful about how long they play with it.
