I like to go fishing, a lot. Though I often use the word fishing in a generic way to mean any method of fishing, what I mean here is flyfishing. I also use the word skiing to mean skiing or snowboarding. And sometimes I use the word kid to mean any kind of person.
When I was a kid (kid really means kid here) and adults would ask me what I wanted to do when I grew up, as a joke I would say, “get paid to travel around the world and go fishing.” Now that pretty much describes what I actually do. I don’t really know how it happened. I can’t believe it. I feel like any day dark suited men in sunglasses are going to knock on my door and say, “Son, we figured out your scam. You need to come with us.”

Had I known how beautiful the big K was, I’m not sure I would’ve let Paul go to Russia by himself….loved the notebook format of your article.
The Chilean article did read like a travel piece, but was worthy of reading and the pictures remind me that though I’ve been there a number of times I never stayed in Patagonia long enough. The pictures almost do justice to how breathtaking the scenery is. I hadn’t thought about the New Zealand reference, thank you for bringing that one up.
