How anyone could seriously believe that bullying could ever make someone stronger or healthier in any conceivable way, is just… well, delusional beyond belief. What she engages in is nothing short of a hate crime, the promotion of violence against autistics and, as such, illegal. She should be locked up, preferably with hardened criminals who would take great delight in bestowing the ‘perks’ she seems to think flow from being tortured and harrassed.

People like her are simply evil.

This is most distressing. Disabled people are treated badly in myriad ways, some subtle, and others not at all subtle. Reading about someone else’s tragedy may make you empathic in a distant way, but Kateryna is a friend of mine, and the frustration and anger I feel is thus all the more palpable. There is something very very terrible with the system by which the world operates. I could go on, but I shouldn’t. This is Kat’s post. Take time to read it. Thank you.

I actually go by Kat so you could have gone shorter. Couple of things I want to say and my brain is already going “No, no outside world” at me so I will say this. For SSI you should have your first check and theback pay. If you did direct deposit check the records, if you guys are waiting on the card, call. They no longer do paperchecks. They made a big fuss at those ofus a few years back who were holding out and did not have bank accounts. This is a federal program so that is universal.

Keep finding new doctors. With the disability and medicare he can. It will be worth it.

I just want to say how sorry I am you are going through hell to get what little help you are getting! I am new to your page and I am so happy I stumbled upon your page.
I have been fighting for 5 yrs to get my husband on disability ( SSI). They keep dening him since he is so young (31) when we first applied. Since then he has had 2 laminectoies of his lower back L3-5 one of those was a revision. Then Neck surgery laminoplasty Graf style, basically the Dr said if he didn’t rebuild his neck he would be a quadriplegic in 6 months to a year at most!
We have traced EDS back 4 generation on his side of the family yet the doctors won’t diagnose him with it. Oh and our 17 yr old daughter also has EDS! They both have hyper mobility too! We are now finding out that having surgery with a doctor that doesn’t know about EDS isn’t benifical to you and can cause more problems!
He finally got approved for disability Dec2013 and we are still waiting for his first check, but so happy he was approved and we can now focus on something else for awhile!
I understand your struggle and I know that it is going to be hard living on disability but we can do it! I wish you had better support with your family or a partner to help you consitantly. If we lived close to you I would offer our support but we are in California. I wish we had cash to donate to help in that area which I know is only a small part of your needs.
Anyway, I love your blog! Keep your strength up and as much as possible keep toxic ppl out of your life!

I have no idea what that film is, from googling and trying to find it to comprehend your reference I found some yet to be released movie that sounds like either disability shaming about to happen in vying for an oscar or some sob story with a happy ending for an oscar. This is reality. I get no oscar for living it. I get no help except from people who have heard about or seen these videos STILL and frankly, the movies never get it right. They make it out like the desperation is all the fault of the disabled person for becoming disabled.
