I’m Waiting For My Man – VU Cover By Teth Sin

About

Teth Sin is an Italy based musician blending exotic, psychedelic and cutting-edge vibes in an ultimately post-genre sonic environment where several roots and visions spontaneously intermingle. Despite being primarily a guitarist, his tracks feature a variety of actual musical instruments involved in the creative process. A massive use of software samplers, synthesizers and sound design tools is guaranteed as well in his productions.

Teth Sin: two consonants observable in all Semitic graphemic and phonemic systems. As far as we know, the Phoenicians were among the first humans who developed and successfully spread an alphabetic script consisting of consonant graphemes. Since this musical project was conceived in Tunis, relatively close to what remains of Carthage, two Phoenician graphemes have been embedded in the Teth Sin logo.

Teth Sin: two consonants whose Arabic graphemic realization offered inspiration to the Kitāb al-Tawāsīn, written between 9th and 10th century A.D. by the Persian Sufi martyr Ḥusayn Ibn Manṣūr al-Ḥallāj. In this mystical treatise the following sentence has been stated: “My denial is to affirm Your Purity, and my reason remains disordered in You. And what is Adam compared to You? And who am I, Iblis, to differentiate from You?”.

Teth Sin: two consonants which, according to the Kabbalah, hint at hidden light and symmetrical change, ego death and creative repetition. Of course there might be much more to say on this subject; yet it is not something to be delivered here by a few written words. This project partly aims to give expression to that missing text through music.
Genesis / Bio
I started playing gigs with my local band as a young teenager, mostly in the region of Venice, Italy, since the late 80’s until about 2000. After 2 decades of total artistic isolation, spent experimenting and recording music on my computer, I started this project in January 2020. Since 2007 I had moved from Italy to Tunisia, and my primary activities wouldn’t allow me to dedicate much time to music.
By 2017 my life had slightly changed, so I was able to complete a freaky track I had been working on for a while; I set up a SoundCloud account and, for the very first time in my life, I shared a tune on the internet. A few old friends had the chance to listen to it and appreciated what they heard. In September 2019, being a Linux user, I stumbled upon a post about an open source music challenge: I quickly produced a track and sent it, finishing in third place. I subsequently shared other tracks online, started to listen to music produced by other creators from all over the world, and had the chance to exchange thoughts, music and feelings with many of them. I decided to change my account name to Teth Sin (see the About section above), crafted a logo and set up parallel accounts on a few widespread social networks. My audience grew, and as most of the guys used to call me Teth (Sin), the name of this project became an artist name for myself as well.
A few months later I started to collaborate with some great indie artists I had previously met on the internet. Working with them was and still is an extraordinary experience, offering me a chance to improve my skills at arranging and producing tracks. Huge thanks to my amazing creative partners!
Between 2021 and 2023 I had to reduce my activities because of several issues I had to face in my personal life. After nearly 15 years spent in Tunisia, I had to move back to Italy, and despite being totally unexpected, this sudden relocation might open up new avenues for this project to further be developed and grow. The amazing feedback I’m receiving from my audience is crucial, under this perspective. With your precious support, I’ll try my best, in future, to deliver as many cool tracks as possible.
I thank anyone taking the time to listen to my tracks, letting me know what they think or sharing them with anyone else. I just love making music, and I’m happy whenever these pieces I’m recording – along with ideas, emotions and sensations I’m trying to deliver through them – have the chance to be appreciated by other creatures, as much as I feel attracted by their own sonic and spiritual relevancy.
